According the Head of the Uruguayan Football Assoc we Americans have fixed the Copa in favor of Mexico. So your odds of seeing them play are pretty good.

It was a good game. And despite the fact that we have to play them, I wish Wales well.
That said pressure is on England now. Couldn't believe that no British team has ever won their opening European championship game before.

Well we've dominated the first half, but without a goal I do worry the break will give Russia a chance to regroup.

Gutted really. It was our game to lose. Russia must be made up!
We did everything but score for most of the game. If we win our next, it won't matter. If we get another draw, we will go into our last game in a difficult position.
Fingers crossed it doesn't come to that.
Getting ready to watch USA vs Paraguay, they have had the USA's number the last few matches.

The Guardian used the verb 'spurned', a lovely verb.
They wrote that England had 'spurned' several excellent chances in the first half - and they were right.
Yes, England 'wuz robbed', and perhaps, mugged.
But guys, this is international football; if you get goal scoring opportunities put the damed ball away; England should have had that match wrapped up by half time.
'Spurning' good chances is usually something that comes back to bite you, - later in the game or later in the tournament - and it is foolish not to have the art of the killer instinct and the deadly finishing touch in front of goal finely honed at this level of a competition.
So, while, yes, England 'wuz robbed' they also have themselves to blame for failing to put away their chances (some of them almost gilt-edged - they had two excellent chances) in the first half.

dont know why people are surprised by england not winning we never win the opener.
Not suprised, just the way it came in the dying minutes of the game, and how we were so dominant throughout.
Still not going to complain. If we can play that well going forward we should do alright. Just need to convert some of those chances.

I hope Peru wins today cause then Colombia will battle them on friday, Colombia's lost was a tough one but costa rica got lucky cause colombia played their 'B' team plus that auto goal didnt help either, doesnt really matter thou cause colombia still continues to the next round, no biggie.
USA's results have been OK (two wins, one loss is decent), but the performance against Colombia was worrying; I expected more fight and less mistakes. Colombia's loss against Costa Rica was HUGE for USA. Now we win the group and probably avoid playing against Brazil in in the quarter finals.
I'd say USA is probably the 8th best team in the tournament, so if we can win our next match and progress to the semis I'd call the campaign a success.
Yedlin is an idiot. His first yellow was a bit of a harsh call, but the second was a crazy foul...when you've just been carded you need to clear your head and focus on the basics. Instead he went berserk.
