And there it is!
Harry Kane, cool as you like despite the best efforts of Panama.

What is up with Panama? They are trying to start fights right and left. Why? Just play.
They don't have to worry about picking up cards.
Plus to my mind the Ref should take charge a bit more.

England are making too many errors for my liking but feel the score line reflects the game well. It’s clear Panama are an inferior side with plenty of dirty cheating tactics coming in to play. Not impressed by the grappling during the penalty and grenade at the feet diving lol.

3-0 get in !!

:)
[doublepost=1529844118][/doublepost]4-0 in the first half. Very happy with the lads!
Come on England!
[doublepost=1529844276][/doublepost]Finally a penalty for all that wrestling!

Only on the football pitch, where they are busy dishing out punishment by fouling.

England 5-0 up at the break; that is a serious hammering, and not an injustice or an inaccurate reflection of play.
Announcer said it right about 30 minutes into the match. Panama worked so hard to get into the cup and now they'll be going home making a sham out of their nation and their national team.

Torres is on the brink of throwing a punch. I can confidently say we'll see more bookings in the second half. Possibly a fight due to Torres.

Disclaimer: I'm not watching the match (Watching Federer) but what everyone here is saying reminds me to Argentinian fans everywhere...

Do you think the Tunisia v Panama game will be a 5 a side? Could be a very poor game!
Good question. Tunisia is more competent with the ball, but I fear some of their players with their hot heads will butt up against the Panamanian players. I'll go with 2-1 to Tunisia. Unless Tunisia steamroll through them. In which case I'd suggest the realm of 4 to 6 goals to nil.

For those of you not from North America, welcome to lower-end CONCACAF football. Panama’s dirty play is typical...especially among the Central American nations like Panama, El Salvador, Honduras etc etc. technically limited but they kick you all over the park. It’s worse if you have to play them in their own national stadia, with a hapless CONCACAF ref.

England will be lucky if they avoid any serious injuries here.

Your post is better than what I wanted to post. Don't really fancy a month long vacation. What's really a shame is all these players from those Central American nations have been playing since they were wee lads. You would expect them to understand sportsmanship. Never see it now, definitely didn't see it decades ago. They're all the same.

Totally agree! This is what we see every year, and some how try to overcome. You can add Mexico to that list. One of the dirtiest teams I have seen. The stuff they pulled against the US in Mexico last year was garbage. I would like to see both these team elimination as quickly as possible. I know Panama is our, now hopefully Mexico will be out in the round of 16.

This is what I fear, for the rest of the game, and, unfortunately, Panama will be utterly indifferent to howsoever many cards - irrespective of whether they come in red or yellow - that they receive.

Well, I hope they are humiliated, and this is not something I would normally wish on any team.

However, this style of football - what the Guardian described as a throwback to the golden age of football filth - is, indeed an eye opener to those of us who - for the most part - haven't seen football played outside of a European setting.

Well, for the sake of posterity, I'm glad this is Panama vs. England and not Panama vs. America. Garfield himself would be whinging on the Twitter in between bouts of insanity.

I follow different leagues. I've seen some weird stuff from various European clubs. Definitely recall a Nazi salute about six years back.
