I mean, maps are available online...

Cracking the 2nd 750 ml high ABV porter. Too good of a match. Loving it.

I changed it thank you. It was a typo.

The only country south of America that matter in football is Brazil, so I really don’t care if it’s central or south.

They just commit fouls left and right without caring. England was close there. The 7th is coming.

They can't win against Switzerland?

Are you suggesting Switzerland aren’t any good? Brazil is the only hope from the Americas of doing anything this WC. Europe is much, much stronger. As I said Brazil is the only team that is worth a damn. They will grow into the WC.

No, I am saying the Brazilian team is not good by their standards.

No, I am saying the Brazilian team is not good by their standards.

What standards? From years ago when they were winning WC after WC? The recent standard has been chokers, so I think they are on a better track. Like a said, this team is better then most think. They just need some time work together. They will be dangerous later in the Cup.

So, Panama decide to play football instead of fouling their way to victory this half.

They came pretty close a few minutes ago, and now have actually scored one.

So, 6-1 to England.
That's what I saw. I didn't watch the first half, but I didn't see Panama foul this half. Glad they stopped fouling, there's no need.

I had you pegged as Czech. A Greek, though. Hrm, I'll keep my economic jokes to myself. :)
Weird, I have mentioned my origins a few times, fixed my profile anyway. Other than mentioning Czech beer not sure how that happened, at least you didn't mix up Switzerland and Sweden.

Also not sure what kind of jokes one could make about poverty - seeing as you have not taken kindly to negative remarks on Mexican migrants, in any case am proud of my parents and their heritage. In any case having been born and raised in Canada most Europeans considered me to have a North American mentality - and were surprised I showed an interest in football (the real one not the US one).

Back to football, bravo to the German team for taking the opportunity for a really dumb move by Sweden-a German schoolmate was quite relieved. Good match, as was the Switzerland-Serbia match.

The England - Belgium match should be interesting. Belgium have more stars, but England are confident and they are playing like a real team. Of course, this would be just the right moment for the England bubble to burst.

Apparently, as an American, I should be embarrassed that Panama got in instead of the US.

Problem is, I guess I just don't care that much.

USA failed to qualify; given how many chances the hex round provides to qualify, we only have ourselves to blame. It certainly was an embarrassment.

Any Latin South American country is pretty good at football.

Uruguay won two WCs.

No. Not quite.

Latin South American countries have a legacy and a history and tradition of success at the world cup. But that des not necessarily translate into current performance and success.

That legacy and tradition and history is not quite the same as being "pretty good" now; Italy have also won the World Cup on four separate occasions yet failed to qualify for this year's competition.

I said "at football", not "now".

Uruguay was pretty good recently.

It's basic human compassion. I wouldn't want to see my worst enemy locked up in a facility, their children separated from them. From an economic standpoint, migrants much like on any continent, make up the large workforce most people won't indulge in, and it has been that way for a very long time.

Yes, they were.

And once upon a distant time, they used to be outstanding.

But - and this is a big but - in some of those countries (or societies): They should have been - or could have been - better, far better, if they had been able to develop their underage teams and put resources into training and structured development for youngsters.
