1. A 12-0 team that didn’t play anybody

2. Got blown out by Iowa and lost to Oklahoma and has a bad offense (and I’m an Ohio State fan)

3. Winning your conference or division is one factor among many. Why do people have this idea that well you win your conference you must be a great team? Look at USC.

Don’t watch the games then. Everybody else has fun watching interesting matchups of teams that don’t normally play each other. It has no effect on the playoff and everybody except grumpy grandpas like you is happy .
The Patriots won their division against crappy teams. Should they not be in the playoffs?

If winning college conferences doesn't mean anything why have them at all.

It does mean something - it’s just not the only thing that matters. And the Patriots are in because they are the best - not because their division sucks.

Are they the best because their division sucks?

Lets just give them what they want, a 20 team super league that competes for the nation title every year. Revamp D1 since it's only 5 teams with a realistic shot every year anyways.

Or not do that and continue enjoying the best sport

UCF as a case for national title. 13-0 beating Auburn.
Not really imo.

The Utah scenario 10 years or so ago was a bigger issue than UCF this year.

Best Rose Bowl ever! I was rooting for Oklahoma and sadly they were on the losing end. Yet with that said, this was an awesome game.

I didn't watch much of the Sugar bowl. Tbh, they had that on too late, and so I switched it off, as I had to get up early (4:00am) for work. That game interested me less, as I'm tired of seeing both teams in the playoff.

Let me add one thing I noticed not just during the bowl games but the entire season.

By and large, the complete lack of defense. Seeing teams run up 50 odd points was not all that unusual. Clemson's 6 points was probably one of the only teams not in double digits (Virginia was the other as they only scored 7 pts)

I'm enjoying this. It's special to see a team like Alabama be this dominant over years and years. We all like to watch good football period, but it's not often you get to see this level of domination.

I can understand why people who aren't Alabama or Georgia fans are unhappy about an all-SEC championship game. But Oklahoma and Clemson had their chance, and they didn't make it. I think playoff committee did a reasonable job within the confines of a 4-team playoff. Expansion might satisfy teams like Ohio State, but I'd be concerned about adding more games to the college football schedule. As it is, Georgia will have played 15 games, Alabama 14. That takes its toll, especially in injuries. Even the players who are relatively healthy by then are probably more injury prone at the end of the season than at the beginning.

Anyway, Georgia fans are certainly putting their money where their mouth is—apparently the cheapest tickets are going for around $1,800.

Totally agree and I’m an Ohio State fan. Alabama and Georgia beat the Big12 and ACC champs (and Alabama won resoundingly). I was angry in 2008 or whenever it was LSU vs Alabama for the BCS championship but I’m fine with this because they showed they were better.

Really we should be wondering what Clemson was doing in the playoff. The ACC is weak sauce outside of Clemson and I don’t think Clemson was very good this year anyway.

The playoff selection is inevitably subjective and somewhat biased. It's also crazy when people apply the transitive property to sports: Team A beat Team B and Team B beat Team C, so Team A is better than Team C.
