...an exciting contest between two teams, both of which are desperate for a trophy - and neither of which has much realistic chance of winning one. It's going to Manchester of course, though I'd love to be wrong and see Leicester or Everton squeak in there. For Everton in particular it would validate their efforts to snag Ancelotti.
I could easily see Everton win the FA cup.

Right. I'm back and I am over the horror show against Man U.

We're back to winning ways and hopefully as our injured players heal and our squad thickens, we can start to compete again.
Looking at the FA Cup game against Wolves, we looked good - hungry, fit and a few new faces and returning ones, which made us look a better side than we have for a few weeks.
Stuart Armstrong was at his absolute best again today and thoroughly deserved a goal.
Juicy fixture coming up against Bournemouth in the 1/4 finals...

Now what will Wolves do in the League when we meet again on Sunday?

Those lopsidedvictories and defeats are usually just fluky results that shouldn't be dwelled upon for too long. I'm sure I said the same thing when Spurs battered United in the beginning of the season. Someone gets an early red card and the whole thing snowballs.

Yes, that was a solid result against Wolves. But honestly, Wolves don't appear to be the same team this season that they've been since they first got promoted back to the top flight. The sale of Jota and the loss of Jiménez have severely dented their ability to score goals and they are slowly but steadily dropping down the table.

Good result for Leicester. Wish I’d gone for Vardy over Kane for my Fantasy league transfer.
We don’t play until Monday. I’m not a big fan of Monday night games. Makes the weekend a bit of an anticlimax.

An excellent result for Leicester, and Liverpool (and remember, that Liverpool - CL finalists, CL champions, and then PL champions - were brilliant for three consecutive years) concede that they will not retain the Premiership title.

Meanwhile, Manchester City make mincemeat of Spurs, and win, by three goals to nil.
The title is theirs to lose.

As for THE MASSIVE WEDNESDAY...

Frozen pitch. Damn Swansea had a rough midweek match. Would have been nice to catch them on short rest.

We have undersoil heating and a state of the art Desso pitch.

Looking at the condition of it we're clearly not investing in it or turning the heating on! I'm sure the league will have questions because it shouldn't be off.

Looking at the same photograph my assessment is that the heating is clearly on and working.

The playing area is green and frost free. That's the part that matters to the active squads.

The heating extends approximately 0.5 meter beyond the sideline so the boundary is not obscured by frost/snow. That's important to the officiating crew.

The out-of-bounds area beyond that is basically irrelevant (in the photo's foreground).

Some American football fields are heat assisted. Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin has been doing this for decades. There is still often manual clearing of important field markings but American football has tons of play stoppages to make this feasible.

I thought so too. Not sure how current the photo is, I assumed it was from yesterday although it could be a stock photo, so there must be some other issue not shown....

Just saw this post:

Yup. This so-called "open" league campaign has not turned out to be that open after all. I suppose the first half was to a certain extent.

Manchester United draw one all against WBA - who deserved - at the very least - a point from the game, while, earlier, Wolves defeated Southampton by two goals to one.

And - early in the second half - Arsenal currently lead Leeds by four goals to nil.

Yes I thought you’d be pleased with that!

And now, - hm, clenched buttocks time - it is four-two to Arsenal, as Leeds score another goal.

Yes, while I am pleased, unfortunately, I can never relax with Arsenal until - let us say - the 93rd minute has passed and the final whistle has been bown.

Fulham currently leading Everton by two goals. That gives them a lifeline and does us a favour in the league.

Indeed.

There is still a bit of a gap between the bottom three teams and the rest of the table, but there is also a bit of a gap between Fulham and the two teams that lie immediately beneath them.

Watching this game live...Why did Saints get rid of Harry Reed? He's always Fulham's best player on the park and often the best player on the park full-stop.
He's a true box-to-box midfielder who attacks and defends all in the same breath. What a player. Can't believe we gave him up. But then, that's what we do...
