West Brom verses Brighton.
Everything that is wrong with refereeing in the modern game.
The ref made terrible calls. On the other hand, you can't miss two penalties and expect to get a result. Brighton can rightly feel they were hard done by, but they ultimately lost the game mostly because they failed to convert their chances.

One of our old managers, Glenn Roder passed away. 65. No age.

Far too young, that is sad.

Another 0-0 draw between Chelsea and United in the league. Definitely a better result for United than for Chelsea, who keep a solid hold on 2nd while Chelsea fails to catch up to West Ham and remain outside the top 4.

This is a match where Pogba's absence was keenly felt. Keep Bruno under wraps and try to make Fred and McTominay initiate the attacks. Just not enough creativity in the midfield. We can only dream of having a squad with the depth and quality of City's.

I found it odd that Danny Welbeck didn’t know if the ball rebounded of the post, the penalty taker can’t touch it first.

I was hoping Utd would do us a favour. Could do without Chelsea breathing down our necks.

EDIT: Watching Roma-Milan. Good game, with an extraordinary number of goals being chalked off (correctly) for offsides and fouls. Zlatan put a very cheeky backheel just wide at one point.

Milan are definitely on top, but Roma have created several excellent chances themselves.

Both teams have a bad record against other "Big Six" teams, so a draw was the most likely result.

You can probably call the engraver on Man City's league title, but none of the rest of the top four are safe. I hope Liverpool rediscover their form before the season ends. If they do, they could become major spoilers for some of the teams currently ahead of them in the table.

Saints injury woes compounded with news that Oriol Romeu has a broken ankle and will miss the rest of the season.
He tried to play on...and they say footballers are soft.

In a real show of character, he posted a video explaining his injury, what recovery will look like and how much he loves the support he gets from Saints fans. I can see him being the next one to get "legend" status at the club.

Watching the LIV/SHU game. A shame that SHU couldn't put away a couple of their chances as they are now 2-0 down. They play better football than their results would lead you to believe.
With that said, they'd be 6 down if it weren't for Ramsdale in goal. He's in inspired form again.

Liverpool badly needed to win today. Ramsdale kept the score modest with his heroics, but Liverpool created a lot of chances. Of course, Sheffield United are pretty hapless right now, so there's little that can be drawn from this performance. The defense still looks less than stellar. Three points are three points however, and not to be sneezed at.

I remember, as a kid, often reading my brothers' football comics (comic strips), very popular until the 80s.

Anyway, one of them always had a particlar strip, (a most interesting, and instructive, strip, one that I always paid close attention to, chiefly, because I found it fascinating), towards the end of the issue, entitled: "You are the ref:" and a football problem was posed, (in cartoon, comic strip form), which you, as the ref, had to attempt to address, or answer. The actual answer was (as was, also, so often the case in school text books) to be found at the bottom of the page, and was something I studied closely.

Of course, as I now know, rules can change over time.

Absolutely they can. For years I knew the offside rule as both a player and a supporter. These days I’ve no idea! It seems different every week!
