So Bielsa is gone, with American Jesse Marsch rumored as the replacement. Given Bielsa's very specific tactical style, Leeds are now going to have to undertake a major tactical transformation while trying to improve results. A tall order. Though Marsch's system is said to resemble Bielsa's in some ways.

You are making me very very nervous, not to mention downright twitchy.

To be perfectly candid, I won't believe in the existence of the miraculous "fourth" spot until we have actually managed to secure the place.

Elsewhere, Mr Abramovich has taken moves to distance himself from the day to day running of Chelsea, although he still owns the club.

Arsenal are on a good trajectory at the moment - if they keep it up they are definitely going to be a strong contender for fourth. The club have given Arteta time and he's gotten rid of players he clearly did not feel were in his plans.

As for Abramovich, the club should have been seized from him and sold at auction. We all know where his loyalties lie.

As nice as an option that is, unfortunately the law does not allow such things.

I feel ten years older. Possibly the tightest match I've ever seen? Certainly one of the most eventful 0-0s I've seen in a very long time. One tight but correct VAR call goes each way to keep it scoreless. Really good PKs from both sides - I would expect no less from two teams managed by Germans!

I think Liverpool just about edged the match by the tiniest of margins, but both teams had so many moments during open play that could have been THE decisive moment.

Maybe it's not the biggest piece of silverware, but as a standalone knockout match it was a big occasion and against a very tough opponent. And it allowed me to forget about the rest of the world for brief time.

Also doesn’t this mean the Europa league spot drops to the league assuming you are in the top 2.

Both the Europa League spot for winning the FA Cup and the ELC spot for the League Cup get bumped down to the next highest-ranked team in the league. So there are multiple permutations but for the moment that looks like 6th and 7th place right now.

Perfect FA cup result tonight. Extra time and a lose for Spurs against Middlesbrough. That should put a dent in their league form.
Middlesbrough deserved their win and their place in the quarterfinals. Hopefully we can join them tomorrow night!

Middlesbrough have put together a great cup run thus far, their fans will be loving the upsets. And Spurs continue to be wildly inconsistent. Peterborough put up a really good fight today but Man City are, well, Man City. It would take a tremendous performance plus a major stroke of luck for a lower league side to beat them.

I re-watched the Carabao Cup final and what impressed me about Liverpool were just how good their offside trap was. Another defense would be called lucky for the offside goals but I think Liverpool's offside trap worked spectacularly. Mind you, Chelsea tested it sorely but it did it's job.

And that penalty shootout is going to end up in all the textbooks. out of the 21 scored I'd say at least 18 of them were top notch and none of them were weak. Apart from Fabinho's cheeky Panenka all were struck with pace and purpose. But the crucial one might have been Virgil's...taken with such coolness, not that far from Kepa but hit so hard Kepa failed to get to it. Demoralizing.

Klopp rotates heavily and Liverpool win easily against a Norwich who, until maybe 70mins into to the match, didn’t look bothered. Minamino’s brace was enough for a 2-1 win after Norwich made it interesting in the last 15 mins.

Abramovich’s statement claims he will write off all of Chelsea’s debt. The western oligarchs move in to cash in on the divestments of the Russian oligarchs. They’re sharks, all of ‘em.

Not too gutted to drop out of the FA cup. We don’t need the extra games with the Europa league starting again shortly and the push for the top 6 in the PL. The FA cup is a great competition to win, but there are some very strong teams left in it.

Agreed. Good Cup runs are fun but sometimes they get in the way of what really is important.

For The Massive Wednesday they usually mess with us trying to get promoted or avoiding relegation.

Agreed. No depth for more.
Southampton, on the other hand, have almost zero chance of either finishing fourth or getting relegated. So a cup run is probably their only chance to win anything. And of course they draw Man City in the next round...I'd love to see a giant-killing there...just to hear Pep go on afterwards about how 'amazing' Man City's performance was, as he often does after a loss.
