Gary Neville is such a hypocrite.
If it was Man U selling players to Saudi Clubs to balance the books all would have been ok. But if other PL clubs do it BAN BAN BAN.

Also its ok to take Sheikh Jasim’s money to get Glazer’s out. Last i checked Sheikh Jasim was from same Qatar Gary Neville criticised in his Pre World Cup series lol.

Middle East money is ok for Manchester United but its a problem if its used for other PL clubs.

You cannot pick and choose. Stick to your principles for all and if you can’t then just **** up lol.

Well yes. It’s either all ok or not ok at all. I know which side of the fence I sit on.

Good Sir have some faith in Mikel then.

Ive got a feeling Kai might be Eddie’s replacement i.e if Eddie is part of Declan deal.
I am afraid that my chosen nom de plume - which does, after all, contain the adjective "sceptical" - reflects my questioning character all too accurately.

I like, respect, and admire Mikel Arteta.

Faith, however, is a leap too far, and - while I devoutly hope that this purchase turns out well, I will admit to some slight concern and some considerable doubt; perhaps, indeed, Havertz is an undiscovered gem.

I shall await and see.

Agree completely.

It is either all okay, or not okay at all.

Selective myopia makes for disturbing optics, and moral blindness is not a good look.

And yes, I know which side of that fence I sit on, too.

Now than Gundogan has left, City have entered the race for Rice which is exactly what West Ham wanted.

Looks like Arsenal will lose their no 1 target and West Ham will get their payout

Newcastle on the verge of signing Tonali

I shall not hold my breath on the outcome of this bidding war which is in West Ham's interest.

If city buy Rice, the PL might as well close up shop for next season. It's already turned into a Ligue 1 or Bundesliga situation where the winner is a foregone conclusion, so why bother?

I'll certainly be watching less top-flight football.

Not exactly. West Ham wanted to keep him.

However, it appears that they (West Ham) are busily leaking details of the "bidding war" as soon as something happens.

Okay, I understand, they wish to promote a bidding war with a view to securing the highest possible price for their departing asset/player.

And that the media are prepared to lap it up, and amplify what is happening not least because so little else is.

City strangely becoming Arsenal's nemesis that comes in and suffocates the life out of everything they're trying to build.

In other developments, Saudi sticking their grubby fingers further into football and golf. And people conveniently developing short term memory loss in favour retirement payout. Rubin Neves to Saudi at 26yrs old is comically sad whilst brutally reflective of modern day sports mentality.

Newcastle gearing up to drop €70m for Tonali is another sign of things to come

Meanwhile subscription and ticket prices continue to skyrocket with less and less value being given back.

Football at the higher levels is no longer about the fans. Its all franchises, selective morality, politics, and state influence.

Well said.

Unfortunately, this is all too true.

When you say West Ham are leaking I think you mean an individual is. I doubt they feel the need to leak anything to the press. They just need to tell the other bidders.

Personally I hope we get as much as we can. Why shouldn’t we? We’ve spent years nurturing and developing his talents. Made him our club captain and given him a brilliant start to his career.

We could get £200 million for him and still be worse off at the start of the season.

Liverpool are clearly unwilling to get involved in the top tier of transfer activity cost-wise. The financial landscape has substantially changed even since the van Dijk transfer, so while the club appear to be willing to spend big for the right player, they will not be trying to win bidding wars against the state clubs or Chelsea.

That is how a club show behave in my opinion. If they want a player, get permission to speak to the player and if the player wants to come to the club then start negotiations with the players club. If the players agent or club tries to drum up interest to get other clubs interested so they can start a bidding war to drive up the price thus earning the players agent and the club more money, the interested club should go back to the player and tell them they are not prepared to get into a bidding war and if the player really wants to come to the club then they should tell their club that they want to join the new club and no other new club.

That kind of behavior annoys me immensely. A club is interested in a player. They hold talks, the player says they are very very interested in joining the club, leaks occur and then suddenly other clubs register their interest and a bidding war starts and instead of the player demanding to their club that they will honor their agreement with the club they said they wanted to transfer to, the player changes their mind and goes with the one that offers the more money.

It's now happened to Mount. Clubs knew United had been chasing him for weeks and just as it gets down to the wire, other clubs register their interest and try to scupper any chance of United getting him. The same has happened with Kane and now Rice, with Rice being adamant he wants to join Arsenal with Arsenal initially being the only one who posed a serious interest in him, now others have popped up with bidding wars now going on. Rice should tell West Ham that he is only going to go to Arsenal which would scupper West Ham's chances of trying to get more money for him from a potential bidding war. Yes it is West Ham's right to get as much money as they can for him but him like that other mentioned is a human being, not a piece of meat that get's thrown side to side and eventually given to the highest bidder.

If the reported £90m over 2yrs proposal from City is true then West Ham/Rice have made a head scratching decision. Seeing as West Ham rejected £90m from Arsenal

I doubt its true
