My eyes hurt, having inadvertently seen (silly me, I googled "Arsenal News") some images of the team (on their pre-season US tour) in that truly horrific psychedelic away strip; good grief, it is hideous.

Sigh.

I know it is a first world problem - but my aesthetic sense is, dare one say, offended; imagine the embarrassment of actually lifting a trophy - any trophy - attired in such an appalling strip.
It’s worse in person. We had them all at work the other week.

Well if oil prices rise you'll know why because it's to pay for the over inflated wages of the football players going over there to play.

Anyone seen Jamie Carragher?

Looks like Gvardiol to City is done.

Question now is what happens to Cancelo.

Mahrez to Saudi also looks like a formality at this point

With Mahrez and Gundogan gone, KDB needing to managed throughout a season because 32. City looking a little short in Midfield.

Same with LFC

city did bring in Kovacic as a semi like-for-like replacement for Gundogan. I'm sure Cole Palmer will feature regularly this season. I thought Bernardo Silva was also halfway out the door? Also a safe bet for Cancelo to get sold.

Gvardiol is a bit overrated IMO, but the rich still get richer.

Saudis got money to burn and they all cash-in. If he had stayed at Liverpool he could have had legendary status like Stevie G.

Has Salah signed his extension?
Saturday's game against United will be interesting. I wonder how many of the sporting press will use headlines such as 'Mount v Rice' :)

Mitrovich no longer wishes to play for Fulham. Feels they're pricing him out of his dream Saudi move.

All 5 Goals scored by Arsenal were thing of beauty.

I know its only MLS but who cares lol.

The yellow kit didn't look as offensive in that game

....
This is what is going to happen in the coming years. Saudi teams will want certain players and they will throw huge wages the players way to entice them to leave their club and when their club refuses to sell because they need the player for their league campaign, the player will complain that the club is preventing a 'dream move'.

It’s not even MLS. It’s an MLS XI who’ve never played together before led by…Wayne Rooney. But I’m sure the trophy will feature prominently next to all that Emirates Cup silverware. 😂

Joking aside, Arsenal look serious and have really strengthened their squad for the upcoming season. And Arteta is no longer an ‘emerging’ talent but an established figure now. Unfortunate, though, to see Arsenal fans at the match cheering Kroenke. It’s not that big of a deal but I’m not sure what they were cheering about.

Well he's given them £600m to spend since 2019

If you are from a smaller league/country we call that situation yesterday.

Villa look set to land Moussa Diaby which again looks to be a shrewd signing. Forget top 4 battle, the battle for 5th place will equally be interesting next season.

I wouldn’t call it a gift. Fans are paying for it in many ways. It’s a Faustian bargain - as it is with all elite clubs.
True but he could also easily have done an Ashley or Glazer and torment the fans despite their contributions. Which i guess he technically did under Wenger. Although he'd argue he wasn't majority owner then.

I still think it grotesque, quite hideous.

Mind you, I just caught a glimpse of Liverpool's away strip for the coming season: Grim, grim, grim.

And, the thing is, they don't have to be that awful.

Even Marco Silva is being linked with Saudi...€40m/2yrs. Can't blame Mitrovic then.

Mane also negotiating to move to Saudi after being discarded by Bayern.

Saudi spending on course to overtake La Liga's

Sorry, I will blame anyone and everyone who chooses to take the proverbial Saudi shilling.

The MLS All-Star Games are usually a total walkover for the European teams' youth prospects, though I think the MLS XI did end up beating someone like West Ham a few years ago — I can't really remember.
