I thought someone would appreciate that result.
That's why I mentioned it.

Manchester City (and, for that matter, Newcastle) can also afford hm, but, whether they want him is an entirely different matter.Mbappe frozen out of PSG pre-season tour and is now officially for sale.
Think he'll end up at Chelsea. Boehly probably licking his lips. Don't think anyone else can afford him. Apart from Saudi
Either that or Madrid will be forced to pay something for him now vs free next summer.
I'm not sure that I would want (or welcome) him either, but I have been surprised at the......insistence of some of the Arsenal blogs on this topic (not least, when there are other, better, or, at least more affordable, players to bid for...)City have no reason to buy him. They have 2 world class forwards already. Unless they want to replace Mahrez or something.
I don't think he'd want to go to Newcastle. And Newcastle have been going on about FFP with the Barns/Saint-Maximin swap. So if they then suddenly drop £150m+ on a player....it'll raise eyebrows.
He is linked with Arsenal...supposedly likes what Arteta is doing but i'd take those rumours with a grain of salt. Not sure they can afford him either seeing as they've already spent £200m this window
Anyone with a dodgy moral compass. You can always choose to not go and take the sportswashing coin. Now a days anyone can be sold to Saudis. 😂
Exactly.Anyone with a dodgy moral compass. You can always choose to not go and take the sportswashing coin.
Agreed. Plus the other alternatives are hardly the breadline are they? I mean is there really much difference between £100k a week as opposed to £300k?Exactly.
It is not as though they drag you to the Kingdom, and pour money down your throat against your will.
You do have some agency and choice: You can elect to can decline these invitations.
If Mbappe wants to be able to play European football - above all, Champion's League football - that debate (re the continent of geographical location) is already answered.I doubt the obvious EPL teams, Saudi clubs, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are the only richest teams in the world that can afford Mbappe. We all have a tendency to be closed minded when it comes to who can afford who. I am sure their are billionaire club owners in Asia, South America and Africa who could easily afford him but would they see him as good value for money to spend a huge amount on one player when they could use the money to buy 3 or 4. Then there is a question is would Mbappe want to move to clubs in those areas?
If Mbappe is of the belief that European football is the only football that matters then it shows what a close minded player he is. European football is not the only football in the world and in my opinion it is insulting and belittling to all the other football areas of the world if that is how people think, especially European players. If Mbappe wants to be able to play European football - above all, Champion's League football - that debate (re the continent of geographical location) is already answered.
Then, it simply boils down to which club (of those that can afford to) chooses to bid for him.
If you want to play in the Champion's League, then, Europe is where you will need to play football. If Mbappe is of the belief that European football is the only football that matters then it shows what a close minded player he is. And why would he specifically want to play in the champions league? If you want to play in the Champion's League, then, Europe is where you will need to play football.
Clubs have always over inflated prices of players just so they screw as much money as they can out of a club. The 'English tax' is well known in the sport for clubs putting extra onto an English player just for the fact that they are English. So, just what exactly is Newcastle supposed to have done? Over inflate the price of an player over clubs owned by the same owner? If the Premier league find that wrong then they should also find the practice of overinflating the price of players wrong as well because that is all what's going on here.EPL clubs raising eyebrows about Newcastle's Harvey Barnes/Saint-Maximin transfer. Saint Maximin going to Al-Ahli for £30m and then using the money to try and get Barnes for £38m.
Problem is, the owners of Newcastle also own this Saudi Club ASM is going to. So basically its the left arm giving the right arm £30m...then telling everyone the money is legitimate income so its fine.
Also interestingly, no other club besides this particular Saudi club is looking to buy ASM.
Bragging rights goes to United but nothing was really on the line here was it? I suspect when it comes to the new start of the season, Arsenal will be playing a lot different than how they played in this game. Not a ton to glean from United / Arsenal at the Meadowlands. Nice to see an American stadium packed out full of enthusiastic fans, even if the second half was a snoozefest.
Jadon Sancho looked like he gained a half yard of pace over the summer, unless it was the Arsenal wide defenders stuck in molasses or something. That would make him a lot more effective.
Kobbie Mainoo looks like the real deal. I can now see why they don't plan on sending him out on loan this season, as long as he gets enough opportunities to play and can add a little more muscle. Maybe adding another defensive mid like an Amrabat or Caicedo is not strictly necessary...
Really hope Amad's ankle injury isn't serious. Hate to see that happen in the preseason when you're trying to win a spot in the team. Want to see him offer Antony some real competition.
Funny you mention that. It just goes to show the difference between the mens game and the womens game. United play it a bit rough but the game goes on. Rep of Ireland had a friendly with Columbia before the womens world cup, the Columbian players were playing it rough just like United were but the ref in the womens game called the game off due to fear that players could get injured.Im more than happy for United to have the bragging rights just glad all our players came off the unharmed.
United players could have seriously injured one or two of our players.
He is only one person, he can't play everywhere at once at the same time so if he values winning of course the first and best choice is to play in Europe. If Mbappe is of the belief that European football is the only football that matters then it shows what a close minded player he is.
