A night of FA Cup ties, plus a few games in the Premier League.

Arsenal host Everton in the Premier League, and I devoutly hope that the "new manager bounce" has ebbed in the case of Everton.

The other Premier League game tonight (all the rest are Cup ties) is that of Liverpool against Wolves.

Elsewhere, West Ham play Manchester United in the FA Cup Fifth Round - I must say that I am rather taken by West Ham's away kit, very fetching.
It’s the score I’m most concerned with. Been quite an even encounter so far.

Well, yes.

I take your point.

Nevertheless, it is a rather stylish kit.

SAKAAAAAAAA 1-0 GET IN.
Sigh.

Excellent.

Saka (on 40 minutes) and Martinelli (on 45+2) both score.

Approaching half time, Arsenal lead Everton by two goals to nil.

0-0 at halftime and we’ve played well. But looking at Utd’s bench I’m concerned for the second half.

0-0 at half time is a good result.

You've missed (failed to score from) one or two quite good chances during the first half; at this level, you must put these away when such an opportunity arises.

Personally, I'd quite like to see West Ham depart with a result.

An Erdinger Dunkel has been opened, and my electric blanket shall be put on shortly.

A goal to the good. Worried about Rashford coming on though.

We came close. But I think those misses will cost us in the end.

Agree that such misses can be costly.

Nevertheless, you've certainly woken them up and taken the fight to them; they have no choice now but to attack. Perhaps you can catch them on the break.

Anyway, as predicted, Manchester United have brought out their big guns for Rashford and Lisandro Martinez have now made an appearance.

We’ve just brought on the big guns. Come on Bowen!

4-0 Martinelli
Yessss.

4-0 to Arsenal.

Now, that is what I had hoped - and wanted - to see by way of emphatic reply, a solid answer, to our earlier underwhelming performance against Everton. This is much more like it.

So, Martinelli now has scored two goals this evening.

Excellent.

A happy Gunner here.
