I agree see where we are at the end of the season. Had a conversation with a colleague at work who was saying what a crap season we’re having. I agreed but pointed out that yes it’s rubbish but we’re 4th in the PL. Yes it’s not where we want to be but needs perspective.
4th in the league and a deep CL run is still very possible. Liverpool suffer against the low block but remain a world class threat when given space - and the better European teams are not going to play a low block.

Very good victory for West Ham against Sunderland (3-1), - which marks their second successive victory - and which also serves to bring them to within two points of escaping the dreaded relegation zone, and out of the bottom three, if they can maintain this good form.

Arsenal do not play until early tomorrow evening when they face Manchester United.

As it happens, I'm resolutely Old School on such matters; I far prefer to have Premiership games played on late Saturday morning, or, better still, at the traditional time of 15.00 on a Saturday afternoon.

I can well imagine.

If West Ham can sustain this form, they should escape the proverbial drop.

Yes, I hope to chat with Decent Brother tomorrow.

Actually, Sunderland have been performing very well until pretty recently; in any case, I would like to see at least one of the promoted clubs defy gravity and stay up, thereby discarding the unfortunate recent tradition of the past two years that insists that all three promoted clubs return immediately via relegation to the Championship the following year.

I don’t think Sunderland are in any danger at all. But agree for financial reasons it’s better for English football if the PL money gets spread between different clubs staying up etc.

Personally I’d have loved to have seen one of the greedy six go down, but that’s not likely to happen.

I deeply dislike (and this is entirely independent of the fact that Arsenal are currently top of the table) seeing Manchester City (currently leading the unfortunate Wolves by two goals to nil) do well.

Gomez is hurt….again. Right after a strong performance in Europe. So back to week of whinging on the podcasts I imagine. But this is the nature of a rebuild. It’s crap to watch but people who expect instant results are too impatient.

Good win for Bournemouth. Liverpool could be 9 points behind Villa tomorrow all being well.
wow a pro Villa post?
perhaps Villa can be a real premier league club soon, tho Newcastle is always a toufph 3 points.
(no one here, media and internet considers Villa relevant anymore, except me.)

I don’t think they are title challengers, but any club that keeps one of the greedy six out of the CL spots gets a thumbs up from me. I think they are a well run club. They are a blueprint for clubs like mine.

Tiresome stuff, and all too often both unoriginal and repetitive, as well as not terribly interesting.

Far too impatient.

Idiots.

I need to clarify….

In the US under the 2023 “Prince Andrew Asylum Pact”
Which in part acclaims that Aston Villa is heralded as a good team.
As of now they are tied for second with Citeh 46 points.
Who knows how they fare across the pond?
Probably regulated already, 21st place -5 points, folded or shipped to the Hebrides, we don’t know?
Remember, an ex Cheers TV show bartender
runs the EPL here rebbeca howe so we get different results.

I did use a VPN and saw the last 10 minutes via an Australian TV feed, and Newcastle won 5-1 as Beundia was subbed for a kangaroo and keeper Martinez was depicted as the size of a koala bear. they obviously have a weird TV agreement as well.

So forgive my inaccurate Villa positivity!

I wish I could say that I understood any this post, but, as it happens, I don't.

Well, such is life.

There is much these days that passes understanding.

Elsewhere, Arsenal and Manchester United are still at nil all, with around 15 minutes played.

I'm suffering, at the moment.

One all at half time.

Arsenal: You utter morons, you complete cretins, allowing Manchester United back into the game, having successfully suffocated them for the first thirty minutes of play.

Still suffering watching this team huff and puff exceedingly ineffectually in front of goal.

As of now, unfortunately, they don't (remotely) look like scoring from play, while, at the same time, one must concede that United's goal-keeper (Lammens) has had a very good game.
