You are? I know some (myself included) prefer the bigger phones, but you get people actually not liking it if you prefer a smaller phone?(We Mini phone users are used to dismissing the hate)

Ignore the noise
If you love the Air - enjoy it!

Agreed! I’m a mini fan (had 12 and 13) and would likely still have one if they still made them.
Surprising myself though I’m also loving the air even after the size worried me at first. While it’s clearly not as easy to use one-handed as the mini, it feels great and the reachability feature has become useful instead of annoying!
Now I’m dreaming of a mini air 🤣
I think that would actually be too small, the Air does have a large display but somehow it doesn’t feel big.Agreed! I’m a mini fan (had 12 and 13) and would likely still have one if they still made them.

Just finishing migrating everything from my XR to the Air, while still waiting for my thin case to be shipped - it feels great to have such a light and sleek phone already.I had a 17 Pro Max delivered on launch day, but it’s 2 weeks later and I had to return it because of the speaker noise issue when charging. That was a little too disappointing to keep the device. While I still think the Pro/Pro Max is the “best” iPhone you can buy, the Air just feels so much better to use.
I really wanted to like the Pro Max, because it is such a beast of a phone and I am ordinarily a spec chaser. Thermals, battery, cameras, performance, it was all top of the line. I would have kept it if it wasn’t for the speaker issue.
Of course this is subjective, but the Pro Max does not seem to be designed for use with one hand. I know some people can only use it with two hands. It’s doable, manageable, but not pleasant. I was often using it flat on a table and hunching over to face the display, almost like it was a mini tablet.
The design of the Pros this year was also pretty disappointing, for someone who has always appreciated the elegant, minimalist design of Apple products. I wouldn’t have wanted to use it without a case. Not because of “scratchgate” or “aluminum sucks” but the glass cutout on the back is really what bothered me. I wish they could have color matched the glass better on the Silver model or made the unibody in a different way.
The Air on the other hand is so sleek, the Space Black is so classy and this phone is just beautiful. I realized I really don’t need all the cameras and battery life on the Pro Max. All I do nowadays is text, call, email, and browse the web, barely taking photos here and there.
The Air is simply a little joy to use for this average use case. I don’t understand why so many people are trying to hate on this phone and point out every single one of its flaws over and over. I think this is actually a sign that Apple did something unique and new, which usually bothers people who are used to seeing more of the same.
I’m going caseless, I feel like this design deserves to be uncovered.Just finishing migrating everything from my XR to the Air, while still waiting for my thin case to be shipped - it feels great to have such a light and sleek phone already.
Probably because of posts like yours. You see hate where you want to, and promote the existence of such a divisiveness. Personally, I think all the over zealous “air love” is forced.I had a 17 Pro Max delivered on launch day, but it’s 2 weeks later and I had to return it because of the speaker noise issue when charging. Buying Apple phones is not an economical choice to begin with. Try again.value is important to a lot of people.
in today’s world of inflation and rising prices, it’s simply becoming a significant part everyone’s decision making and overall it is bleeding into mainstream culture.
The air suffers from a narrative that you’re getting less while being charged more. That’s not hate, it’s reality when you objectively break down relative costs and value when comparing the base 17 and pro versions.
It’s a great phone for a permanently bad time in society because it’s asking you to see past the absolute value of components and to imagine a more fulfilling and joyful experience.
I think that would actually be too small, the Air does have a large display but somehow it doesn’t feel big.
It’s quite easy to maneuver one-handed in my experience just because the phone is so thin you can tilt it and adjust it to reach what you need effortlessly.
Oh yeah it’s not the multiple posts on here bashing the phone and finding some new reason it’s a bad choice to buy everyday, it’s definitely my post. Try actually reading the forum and you will see it too!Probably because of posts like yours. You see hate where you want to, and promote the existence of such a divisiveness. Not sure why OP has some confirmation bias and group validation for a product they’re purchased and used. There's discussion but I'm not seeing much hate. Everyone pretty much agrees it's lovely to look at and hold but that it has compromises to achieve it. People disagree on how much those compromises affect them. That's about it
Every device is a compromise, not sure why it bothers when OP is pointing out about the negative bias of Air.Not sure why OP has some confirmation bias and group validation for a product they’re purchased and used.
The iPhone Air has compromises, it’s a fact. How much it bothers the customer is subjective? OP sounds like some Apple Marketing team trying the hard sell.
It will sell lot more than Mini did in 2 years. Air is most likely the future of iPhone. Wouldn’t be surprised if Air becomes the regular iPhone lineup. With Pro/Pro Max and E models. Fact is no one knows the sales numbers, like last year narrative iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max were not selling coz Apple had plenty in stock.Low sales numbers justify hating the phone? People won’t buy it in droves like the Pros, sure, but why go around bashing on it if you don’t even want to use it?
Do you buy a certain model of phone because you know it sold the most or because it’s the best one for you?
Average people don’t think the Air is the best one for them, oh well. I could not care less what phone they use.
Honestly I’m starting to think all the hate has been because these people secretly want the Air but they could never “justify” the purchase to themselves.

It doesn't matter how good the Air feels to use if you can't get the shot you want/need or the battery doesn't last you. And in the same relative price range as the Pros it needs to be at least AS GOOD to warrant its value proposition, which it doesn't.
