Its hard to believe the season is already almost over... Just one more episode left.

With William in the FBI's crosshairs, and Paige being exposed to the darker side of her parent's lives, it should be an interesting finale.

Well, it was a good episode overall, and end to a great season. A bit of a letdown as a season finale though.
I don't know, it certainly left things in limbo as to whether or not they have been compromised and whether or not they decide to run. Clearly they are not likely going to run as far as the show goes for the next season or two, but it's still interesting to see how that gets decided and what the ramifications will be as far as whether or not they have been compromised or at least that much closer to being so.

I don't insist on a climax or a cliff hanger for a season finale, but the end kinda fissled. Ok, it was alright, next season they pick up readjusting to life in Smolensk. ;)

i was kind of disappointed with the finale, but next season has a good set up, especially with philip's son entering the fray

It took me a second to figure out what was going on in the beginning (with Tuan), but once that clicked, I quickly remembered why I love this show.

So glad it's back.

Gotcha, thank you. I knew it was ending, but at least we get one more season after the current one!

I want to see some fireworks next season. If they live happy ever after, I'll be pissed, although that is just directed at the parents, even though the kids will be damaged no matter what.

I'm hoping for the best for Oleg Buroff but plan on being disappointed.

Very intrigued with Phillip's speculation that Stan's new girlfriend is a Russian agent.

Poor Martha. However, I'm glad to see her appear this season. Hopefully they take her story somewhere interesting.

Overall though, I'm underwhelmed by this season so far.

I just realized that Stan's new girlfriend Renee, is Andrea from The Walking Dead! (Laurie Holden). :)
Holy smokes, Philip is gaining a real conscious, afraid Stan might become like a Martha if the Russians are working him (unverified). This opens interesting possibilities for the first season next year.

More lies for Paige regarding their wheat mission, while she worries about what Pastor Tim thinks of her, from reading his diary.

Outstanding show...

Stan's relationship with Henry could be interesting depending how long the series goes. Henry seems to idolize Stan more than his own father. I wonder where that is going.

^ Previously, I thought Paige would be her parents' undoing, but now I wonder if it'll be Henry and his relationship with Stan. Although, maybe not... With him going to boarding school, he'll probably be out of the picture for most of next season anyway.

Also, what is with Oleg's grocery store investigation, and why are they spending so much time on it? I just don't see the importance of it...

One more episode for this season (5). I'm really pleased where this show is at. Philip seems to be really losing his zeal for serving the Mother Land. Elizabeth, no problem popping'm between the eyes. :( They seem to be in a prime spot to move into the final season.

I don't think he makes it to boarding school. If anything, I would expect Henry will be the fall of the family at this point. Paige, to some extent, knows that returning to Russia is a possibility, but Henry literally has zero knowledge into any of his parents' operations. The shock could be too much for him to handle.

I don't see Paige or especially Henry agreeing to move to the USSR, especially if they know anything about it. And when the truth comes out or realization that their parents manipulate, have sexual relations with their targets to manipulate, and murder innocent people who get in their way, including completely innocent people, I think their level of revulsion and horror will be extreme... but hey, this is television.

What endings can you imagine for the Jennings family? Yes, I posted something like this before. :)
  • They all escape.
  • They all end up dead.
  • One or both of the parents end up in jail or dead.
  • With the realization of the extent of their parents activities including murderer, one of the kids turn them in.
Although based on current events, this might be considered predictable, I could easily imagine Stan becoming aware, put in a hazardous position, Phillip giving him a pass, but Elizabeth... I could also imagine Phillip and Elizabeth killing one or the other to protect someone, or not let someone get away.

The finale was, in my opinion, the best episode of an otherwise underwhelming season (and my least favorite season of the show so far). The show has always been a slow burn, so that much was expected, but I found myself bored many times. Even the EPs commented on the pace in this interview:

TVLINE | Your show has always been a slow burn, and maybe this season has been a slower burn than others…
WEISBERG | [Laughs] It isn’t even burning anymore! Just warm embers.

My thoughts as we enter the end stretch:
I'm intrigued by Renee. Is she or isn't she?
Good riddance, Pastor Tim. His storyline was way too drawn out, in my opinion.
I kinda figured something would come up to keep the Jennings from moving to Russia, so that wasn't shocking.
I do feel bad for Philip though. He's clearly unhappy. I just hope he doesn't nosedive into depression. That would not make for a fun final season.
The scene with Martha was bittersweet. I'm not sure, but it may have been meant to close up her storyline... Living in Russia, happily ever after? I hope not though, it would be nice to see her make her way back to the US.
