There are NO carrier settings to modify in the Settings->About->Network for the MMS like everyone has with the 5.0 carrier file so the setting cannot be changed or modified manually without editing the carrier file itself

+1 ^^^ Right on PezCore:

Actually, it's not a JB, but a carrier update ipcc to the iPhone Carrier Support File. In Settings>Network = AT&T 5.0 while many others w/o MMS are AT&T 4.0......

i choose to believe this because accepting the fact that this post is made up would make my mind blow up and do a barrel roll.

No way. Same exact thing happened to me.

Never before have my dreams been so exquisitely shattered by a single mouseclick. Haha getting back on track 2 weeks sounds believable but ill believe it when i see it. I just hope "late summer" doesnt turn into "early fall, we promise this time"

So, AT&T even lies to their own managers? This is too much. And I love the pizza pic!!!

I hope it holds off longer, what will we have to cry about when it comes out, we have Cut and Paste, Video, MMS, Tethering, and voice activation! I need new ideas to cry about! My day will be lost!

I don't see what the big deal is. Is every really that worried about MMS? Is it just because other phones can do it and you can't so you're going to cry and stomp until it comes true?

Anyways... I'll try MMS out when it comes out, but I don't need it in a hurry. By the way... hopefully "Late Summer" doesn't turn into "Next Year" like Push was going to be released in September 2008.

Speaking of September... I can't wait for SNOW LEOPARD! It looks super crazy awesome! I think it's going to make my Mac Pro FLY!

If people wanted to, they could have MMS enabled whenever, tethering as well. Install a profile from help.benm.at. Worked for me.

while I agree with what you say. that only works for some people and the average iphone user (not us here who salivate over phone rumors and the latest workaround) does not have the knowledge to hack tethering and mms onto their phone (and they should not have to)

This is as far from hacking there is. You don't even need to connect your phone to your computer, it's all done with Safari.

the point is that people shouldn't have to do this. when i tried it it didnt work and i lost vvm. you can say i did something wrong but i am pretty tech savvy and it still didnt work

So this is why get get put on hold with ATT when calling in with real issues. Customers are calling in, bitching because there's no MMS, something that ATT only recently promised would be available.

Hey everyone

I just got done grabbing a bite at the Taco Bell which is located on the same corner as ATT corporate in lower manhattan and while there I overheard one of the ATT "suits" talking about tethering. As they were talking about a press release going out - they must work in PR. Anyway - they were arguing back and forth while ordering chaluppas (one had beef, the other had chicken if that's important) as to when the press release should hit the wire. The first said that they should do a soft launch next week and THEN send out the press release. The other said that they needed to hype the fact that tethering is now available and should send out the press release as soon as possible to get some media attention in lieu of all the bad press/blogging going on.

Either way - I think from my Taco Bell spying that tethering is going to happen really really soon!!

Authors note: The above is pure BS.

Wow you guys are excited over MMS. We've had it since the 3.0 launch and it's not all that cool.

why is everyone hung up on the "5.0" carrier version. the 5.0 was an arbitrary version number given to the file by the 1st person that made it so that it would supercede the 4.0 already in there. there is nothing magical about people using 5.0 right now. att could be releasing 4.5 in the next update.

So has anyone actually called att and said they wanted to cancel their service because of no MMS haha

i absolutly hate when someone says that since THEY dont need a feature nobody else should need that feature its ur opinion and thats it nothing else i dont use email on my iphone others do nothing but email on there iphone its an opinion stop stating theses opinions as facts
