You know; I'm not super-excited about MMS, but it will be nice. And here is why.

I send pictures and screenshots to my dad constantly (once a day maybe) to his work e-mail from my iPhone. Unfortunately, his Blackberry cannot see the pictures, so he has to view them on the computer. I also would like to be able to send these same pictures to my mom and sisters, because they rarely check their e-mail.

I will use MMS... but I am not super-excited about it.

So to the person who said it gets old fast: It may for you, but for others it's useful in showing people things in your everyday life.

Blackberries can't handle PNG images? Wow, I thought they had the best email on any phone

Blackberries only recently handles html and images inline. I'm not sure if they handle pngs or not.

When people refer to email handling - they are referring to push email and also how it works with enterprise servers, mailboxes, accounts, etc

o i was just making a comparison to wat these people are saying that say mms isnt important because they dont use it i know wat mms is but thanks for clearing that up

u NO it lol

plus I dont like the letter H

Then, wouldn't you want to type:

o i was just making a comparison to wat tese people are saying tat say mms isnt important because tey dont use it i know wat mms is but tanks for clearing tat up

I assume I got all the "h's." :)

Basically it was instructions to managers, dated today saying that if a customer complains about MMS to stick by the late summer date, but if they request for their service to be terminated to go ahead and advise them that MMS will be officially available in 2 weeks. The memo also went on to say that the manager should admit that AT&T dropped the ball if the customer persists, and that the software to enable MMS will be included in Apples next update.

Sounds like crap. Anyone else who works retail would probably recognize this as a way to string customers along so they can come back and fight another day...because that way, at least they're coming back :)

Anyway, if the MMS feature is waiting on an update from Apple, how have so many people already had it start working with no hacks or workarounds? Typical, ATT blaming Apple, and Apple blaming ATT.

I have used blackberries and to be honest, I think their email is overrated. Yes the server is fast, but it is also a pain when it has it's outage every so often. As for the picture and format issues there have been with blackberry, who cares if you get your mail fast if it can't show all the content in the email?

I think I'm going to turn it all around today. No more being cynical and negative.

I really hope the information this guy received is authentic. Sure would be a nice surprise for all those people who are predicting September.

I try to avoid these threads so MMS being activated comes as a surprise for me but all the flaming and bashing is so entertaining!

No one has gotten it working without a "hack or workaround".

I guess I'm going to need to add the following disclaimer into my original post.

Just so you guys know, I'm in no way claiming that MMS will be out in two weeks, we all know AT&Ts track record for giving employees ( including managers ) down the line valid, accurate information.

So even-though this manager seemed to be completely legit, please take the general AT&T information disclaimer into account.

Best post ive seen in a while.

Knowing AT&T, late summer will be the day before the Autumnal Equinox or turn into the vague and always hated "coming soon."

Yeah; I'm jealous about how my dad's push e-mail works with Exchange or whatever they have at his job... (they use Notes for e-mail, so I don't know what they use for push e-mail). I wish I had that... I send him an e-mail from my phone and I hear it almost immediately.

After I called up AT&T to order the BB Bold (As seen in my other thread):

I was like "So do you know when MMS for iPhone's will be out?"

"Uhm, not really. They said by the end of summer, so no later than October"

"Oh really? I have a friend that works in an AT&T store as a manager, and he told me that AT&T corporate sent him a memo saying that if somebody asks for MMS, tell them late summer, but if they try to cancel their contract, say it should be out in two weeks"

"OH REALLY? Wow. See, over here we don't get memo's like that"
