Sorry not BS as we have pretty much all flavors of Android phones in our business since Android has been around. And all of them have been BAD battery life. Yes the screen may pull more, but Android itself has always been bad on battery life period.

Your statement was that every android phone has poor battery life. This is not the case. My nexus S got perfectly fine battery life and my galaxy nexus gets good battery life too (as you saw in my screenshots that the other guy posted). What you state is not applicable to either the Nexus S nor the Galaxy Nexus. And for good measure I'll include another screenshot. This one is of light use. As usual I don't have anything turned off, so push email is going, background syncing, bluetooth, gps, and wifi are all turned on. Screen brightness on auto. I did around 1.5 hours of screen time, about 1.5 hours of phone calls, over an hour of skype (with about 30min of it over hspa), emailing, texting, a little browsing, etc. As stated before, on heavy use I have no problem making it through a day, and on light use I can easily get over 24 hours. Since I charge my phone nightly I don't need my phone to last more than 24 hours, really 12-15 hours is enough to get me back home from the time I leave in the morning.

Like I said, based on FACTS, most android phones have poor battery life. They do not last near as long as the iphone period. The Android battery life helps when you ROOT the phone, but why root it? It should work that way out of the box like the iphone does.

My battery lasts about 5 hours but I send a lot of texts, surf the web, pandora, iheartradio, and play games. I'm happy with the 5 hours I get. When I'm in the car I charge my phone and that seems to help keep my phone from never dying

wow 5 hrs and that's it?

Even with constant gaming (command and conquer) I couldn't kill HALF my battery in like 3 hours...

BTW when do people find all this time to be playing games and sending all these txts? I send a lot of txts off and on at my desk but I never have any time to do a whole helluva lot more (except constant music... like right now)

to spread joy and cheer, and maybe get the next person who was going to post YET ANOTHER "look at my battery stats" thread to think twice about hogging space on the front page of the forum.

Ok, so by telling someone on this thread that you don't care about their battery issues is going to deter people who don't know about this thread from posting another on the same topic?

No you stated
All Android phones have worse battery life than this phone period. I just came back due to poor battery life on the Skyrocket which is rated as more than the NExus.
then for some reason you referenced the skyrocket which is a lte phone.....Like I've said, the nexus s had decent battery life and so does the gsm galaxy nexus (which I've proven), so your statement was inaccurate. btw, I'm not rooted at all..I'm 100% stock.

Lost 6% overnight, so i started my day with 94%

Usage - 1 Hour, 28 minutes

Standby - 12 Hours, 5 minutes

I'm currently at 76%

A few texts....a few textfree messages.....5 minutes of web browsing....Thats basically it.

Very light use and it seems the battery life is so so.

This is with the following off:

Wifi
Bluetooth
iCloud
Fetch mail every 15 mins (No Push)
About 7 apps in the multitasking bar

I know I got better battery life on the 4 with IOS5 installed. This battery doesn't seem great to me....

Reading comprehension owns you.

I said all Android phones. I run the IT department and we have many things from EVO, Moments, to the newest phones and all have had crappy battery life period.

Nexus any model has large complaints on battery life on the XDA forums. They recommend you ROOT it. It doesn't compare to the iphone battery life.

I usually charge my phone during the night. Im on full charge at 8am'ish... and come around 10-11pm, im low on battery and i've barely even used the phone.

You don't even know what you said....first you said all...then you tried to clean it up and say most...now you're back to saying all....figure out what you want to say and then stick with it and stop the back and forth crap. I know what's on the xda forums, and as a matter of fact one of the larger threads on there is a thread about GOOD BATTERY life. Furthermore, you show your ignorance when you state nexus of any model. From that statement alone, it's obvious you have no experience at all with the devices I mentioned. And to take it even further, I've provided screenshots that disprove the inaccurate garbage you continue to spew. You want to keep bringing up what you read somewhere about a phone you have no idea about, and I'm bringing real life real world usage...which one do you think holds the most weight......hmm.. It's obvious you have an agenda and it's obvious you aren't a reasonable person therefore this dialogue between us is over.

Side note: lol @ you bringing up reading comprehension when you can't even decide what you want to say. You started off by saying

lol now who's the one who can't comprehend? You may be seated...;)

Using 3G all day terrible usage

4 hours,31 minutes usage

13 hours standby

3% left

I normally get 6 hours usage and over1 day standby...odd but that is using mainly wifi

On the iPhone 4s and my battery life lasts till 11:00pm with normal usage and around 10% of battery life left

After plugging the iPhone into my laptop and installing iOS 5.0.1 then on the iPhone went to location services, across to the bottom and pressed system services
And then turned off all of them besides the first two. Now my battery life is pretty good

Pure BS

New nexus 4.6" screen, heavy use:
Image

And light use:
Image

Both are miles ahead of what the OP is getting.
What I would give for Apple to include similar usage screen (metric) for iOS... It would be really nice to graphically see what is actually causing the drain in battery life, versus having to muck through text log files.

Why get defensive just admit the battery sucks now. It's the price we pay for all the new functions.

Lol that GN is looking nice! Might scoop one up tomorrow afternoon:cool:

I don't turn off WiFi or do any of that other silly stuff, and I'm getting 4.5-5 hours of usage on mine. Big deal. Small price to pay for what this lil bastard can do.

I can usually go a full day before charging.

I swear, people expect everything to be perfect. They want their cake, but they want to eat it too. You want a phone that does this much, that's this small, but has 100 hours of battery life? Keep dreaming, unless you want to carry a brick in your pocket.

The Nexus S really did have good battery life. So did the EVO 4G and the EVO Shift, actually, though the EVO 4G took a little longer to get there on stock builds. But later stock builds on the EVO 4G I would compare to the iPhone to a degree.

I think that in general the myth of the bad Android battery stems from a couple things: a few bad apples because there are so many more Android phones than iPhones and some really do have battery issues, widespread availability of LTE and the fact that a lot of users don't know how to turn LTE off or the impact it has on battery life, and because you can get more information about the battery life "at a glance" from Android than you can the iPhone so people get worked up about the battery and pay more attention to it.

Yes, some do have bad battery lives. But not "most" or "all" of them to be sure. Android is a good mobile OS for millions of people; it wouldn't be if it were as bad as some people proclaim it to be.

EDIT: BTW, after two days so far I don't see any difference in the battery life performance of my iPhone 4S from what I was getting from my iPhone 4 back in the day.

Going back and forth? I am not going back and forth. YOU ARE. I said and still only saying ALL ANDROID phones. None of them can last as long as the iphone. Period. They all do not have good battery life. Sure, the only ones that have better battery life are ones that turn off all the features, root their phones, etc. I don't care about those. I am talking about stock phones, not jailbreaked, or rooted.

You are the one in the big argument in that other topic that people are telling you are also wrong in. But I won't get into that here or in that topic.

No he owned you. You did go back and forth and he showed the quotes that proved it. He also showed the screenshots to prove what his battery life is without any mods. You just choose to keep ignoring them to suit your agenda. You really don't know what you're talking about. So once again I'll say it OWNED.

No that isn't going back and forth that is nitpicking at wording. Most vs ALL was the same thing I was trying to convey. Either way it's nitpicking and childish he continues to have baseless facts in this topic and the other one.

Yea, I don't turn off GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth, and get emails all day on 2 email accounts pushed, and use my phone for work, texts, etc. I use only 20-30% of the battery which leaves me around 70% left from 6:30am till 10pm at night. The Skyrocket, EVO phones I personally owned, both only made it till noon and required a charge and I have WIFI off, GPS off, Bluetooth off to even make it that far.

Baseless? last I checked, I provided something to back up what I claim, you have none. Oh and last I checked "all" and "most" is not the same thing. That's not nitpicking, you just obviously don't know the meaning of basic words, or you have a problem conveying a consistent thought. I don't know why you're bringing up the skyrocket and the evo, that has nothing to do with what I stated. Again, it's painfully obvious that you are speaking from a position of ignorance and have no experience with the devices I stated. And why do you keep bringing up other threads? Perhaps because you can't stand on your own statements in this one. Sorry but you come up short. Thanks for playing.
