I was walking past my neighborhood Apple store and found the new iPod sitting on the ground! Can you believe that luck?!?! I guess they dropped one when they were bringing them into the stores! Its beautiful! I'm actually writing this post from it! The keyboard flips out from the back of it into a full-sized new iMac keyboard! How does Apple do it?
supposivley he knows someone who works for apple and that person told him. but he swore not to tell anything about the new iPod. they are "watching him". but he says that ALL OF US will not be dissipointed....so thats good. i dont know whether or not to believe him. hopefully hes telling the truth. i hope he is....but whatever the case....

Do people seriously believe this blithering fanboy has "contacts"? I'm hoping for a huge dosage of Awesome with this new iPod as much as anyone else, but I almost hope find myself hoping it's mediocre just to prove Mr Know-it-all (or rather, Mr Pretend-to-know-it-all) wrong!
We'll know by Wednesday. Personally I'm still thinking it'll either be disappointing but at a decent price, or everything people have been wishing for but more expensive than any iPod has been before. I'm sortof leaning towards the latter, with the existing iPod range being downsized to the "fatpod". Yes it's ugly at the moment, but tastes change and people will get used to it (I'm thinking of the first flat-panel iMac here... everyone complained it looked like a screen on a stick shoved into a boob. But it was successful)

haha. i hope he is telling the truth...b/c i remember him saying something like "remember when apples homepage said 30 years were just the beginning welcome to 2007" he said....that it was referring to september 5th. that excites me more. but i dont know...it would suck if hes lying. cuz thennnn he sucks....for getting my hopes up and then them not being true. but i dont care. all i hope is a touchscreen iPod....with wifi. ahhhhhhhh.

Yeah, I want the new iPod soooooooooooo much! So, here's what happened. I got an iPhone, sold my old iPod, then, decided that I needed a new computer more than a new cellphone (my old eMac was getting WAY too old for use) so I took the iPhone back. So, now I don't have an iPod, and was going to wait for a freaking cool new one to come out in two months. TWO MONTHS! So, for that time I have been dying, especially at work this summer and now school. So, if he was lying, I will never believe anything that he says.
i've been waiting 3 years to replace my 3G iPod....its been a loooonggg road. i am sooo excited....i just cant wait to see what apple brings to the table. i have classes that day....so i am really hoping there will be a link to a SPOILER FREE page that has the quicktime video...there was one for the iMac event so im betting there will be for this one too. omggg the time...the timeee is goooinggg by soooo slowwww. cant wait! eeeeeek

Yeah, I'm gonna look to see if there are any SMS threads that are going to be covering the Event. That would be way helpful!
same here. i personally feel like the 3g ipod was the best built ipod. ive never had an issue with it and the touch wheel is so much better than the click wheel
yeah....i've tried those before...but i find coming home and watching the full event on video w/out knowing anything much more exciting. i really hope theres a link to the video.
september 5th is gonna be great...i just am so excited....about everything..
what its gonna look like, specs, storage, touchscreen?, wifi?, etc, etc.
haha....so you feel my pain too! well not pain...the 3G for me has been great too. still is very responsive....the battery is not that good anymore. i loved mine. but it is time....to be replaced by the 6G iPod....ahhhhhh. i cant take it anymoreee what are the specssss! haha.

I was thinking about upgrading to the 5G a while back, mainly because of battery life, but I got a new battery and now get ~20hours
you know what would be really funny? If the new iPods arent even touchscreen? They are still click wheel but just look a bit different and have an updated UI. That would suck soooooo much! AGHHHH!!! I might kill a man in anticipation of Wednesday!!!!!
True, I could just check out the website in one of my classes. So, it won't be that bad. But, I wish that they were having the event on a regular Tuesday. I know it's a holiday, but, come on Steve, why couldn't you have made the keynote on Friday?

Sad thing is, it is the most likely to happen. I mean, seriously, I was looking back in my MacWorld magazines and they kept on saying that the iPhone was just around the corner every December issue.
Don't worry, there's a good chance his predictions will not be far off the mark, as many of them are logical and reasonable. This makes him a very good fake, it's a bit like the "psychic cat" I was reading about who can forsee the deaths of residents in a nursing home. They claim the cat can see into the future... erm no, it can just detect much more subtle changes in scent than we can (due to failing organs etc), and is lured by it - nothing more.
Of course, if accurate, we'll then be subjected to continued claims that he knew all along from "secret contacts" (yawn... how many people come onto this site and spout BS that they "heard from a friend who works for Apple"?)
I just don't believe anyone who doesn't either have proof, or an existing reputation for making accurate claims. Any idiot can claim their friend's dog's sister's owner's father works for Apple - and posting once every 2 minutes / shouting down anyone who disagrees like a rabid fanboy doesn't help any such person's credibility

Mine is also a 3G... it's scratched to hell, has been dropped on the ground while it was running (it split open and the hard drive fell out) and it's *still* going strong! The video one tempted me, but I've yet to see one as a "must". This could be it.

Yeah, but I don't know what. Apple could cover the iPod up with a new one really fast, but I think that they know that they need something pretty good to match the iPhone. I think people expect the iPod to be like the iPhone in at least one way more than it having an iPod in it, and Apple knows that too.
