Kinda does contradict.

I can talk about anything that has already been discussed on this website. I cannot reveal anything new about this iPod that has not be written or discussed before. That includes more info about the screen, aside from it's size.

Ok sorry, I've never been let into Apple's secrets so I don't really know.

when was the ipod photo released again?

I think it was re-released as the iPod Video or 5G

Sorry, it was but only in its 30 and 60 gig form.

Not often at all to be honest. Well, in my memory. The only thing i can really remember is the keyboard.

I'll give you one thing Don, you're more mature at dealing with other posters than I am!

30gb for $199 (as someone mentioned earlier, a friend working for RS?) would make sense. That'd be a good size and price point for the new iPod Mini (or fatpod if you prefer). Either that or it's just going to be the refurb price of the existing 30GB one. The nano will hopefully continue as it is because it's a very cute form factor, although I must admit if I was going to have a separate iPod for cycling/gym/whatever it'd probably be the Shuffle. The Nano is more of a compromise between the two at the time of purchase than something I'd buy as an addition.

Interestingly, when I first saw the newer Shuffle I thought it looked fugly compared to the chewing gum stick version. Now I love the look of it and would definitely buy it over the old one. So again, even if that "fatpod" is real it'll probably work out in the end. I just hope they keep the Nano because it seems much more convenient for strapping to your arm or whatever.

I can fully believe that the "all the bells and whistles" version would be up there on par with the iPhone with cost, probably a bit more. This would give people what they want without all the problems with cannibalising the profits from the iPhone - not to mention that it'd prove the iPhone is overpriced ;)

Yeah, sorry, the only things that have been leaked have been, well, check them out here. (NOTE: There is a new one, Apple released a Tip of the Week that stated that there would be an iWork '08.)

yeah i guess they did leak something i just wish they didnt leak anything so i would have to wait anxiously for wednesday :p

Would like to see this as the new widescreen and include her as an accessory--)))) :D

Nobody scared me away. I simply don't spend 24/7 on macrumors. When approaching an event like September 5th, I probably do spend 2 or 3 hours a day on these forums... but not more than that.

Yeah, i hear you, I am just bored out of my mind and WAY exited for the Apple Event, so I am just trying to calm the excitement by talking to other exited people. :)

Obviously you saw my signature. An official release date hasn't been announced yet, but it's definitely October.

Shall we try to stay on topic here, guys?

9to5 has an image of the ipod but they arent showing it but they did describe it:

Same form factor as the iPhone with some notable exceptions:

* Outside rim is black, not silver like the iPhone and more flush with the screen like the 5.5G iPods not rounded like iPhone
* No ear speaker or microphone for phoning
* Thicker - slightly

Things that are the same:

* OSX Embedded OS
* 480x320 screen
* Coverflow-enabled iPod application
* Single button home navigation

Things we wish we knew:

* WiFi? (This is the Capper)
* GPS?
* NAND RAM and/or 160GB Hard Drives configs?
* Cost? (Like it matters we want them!)

What does that mean?

??

Well, it means it will have a sharp edge like an iPod and not a rounded one like the iPhone.

Where does it say this on 9to5's website?

Well, it means it will have a sharp edge like an iPod and not a rounded one like the iPhone.

That's because the screen is bigger! I don't know why 9to5 says that the screen will be 480 horizontal pixels.

will there be some cool things that new ipod will be able to do that nobody has really talked about?
