Well, regular shipping takes about 3-5 days, for me, though, it takes about a week and a half. (So if I bought it online on Wednesday, it would get there on Friday the following week. For me, the iMac was in the Retail Store on August 7th at like 3 PM.

I think with Regular shipping it ships the next day... and it might be the same with overnight shipping. It's the travel time that changes, not the pre-shipping time. I sure hope mine ships on the 5th though. I've had Apple orders ship on the day of placement before.

Hey... after the 5th Avenue store... sounds something like Steve would want to take on... maybe a glass, underwater store. :D Sounds like a challenge Jobs would want! :apple:

I know all the physical specs and features of the new iPod, but i'm not allowed to spill all the beans. Though i've already confirmed that the two high end models will be expensive, and have a 4" screen.

so what do you guys think??? should i order it online....or just wait for it to hit retail stores?

we dont know when it will hit bestbuy, circuitcity, etc. so i dont know.

expensive relative to the video, the nano, or the iphone?
 
im buyin mine off bestbuy's website with in-store pickup, they have a better warranty than apple. if it breaks 4 times, its a refund/replacement (whichever one you choose). so theoretically if you broke it 4 times you get your money back.

well, call the Apple Retail store around 2 on the 5th and ask when they will get the iPods. Then, go to the Apple Store if they do and pick one up. Although, you might just want to do next day shipping because the Apple Store does not allow you to reserve products.

if you buy it that way....do you purchase it off of their website....or can you pay instore?

But that means you will have to wait a few weeks.

why? b/c bestbuy will take a while to get them instores? i dont have an apple store near me. im thinking the best thing for me is to order online. b/c if best buy doesnt have them for awhile....and i wait...it might be awhile before they get them in.

Cool. I used the iPhone today at the Apple store and I was thinking how HUGE of a difference that extra half inch would make. The iPhone's screen was bearable, but I think you really need 4 inches to play a 2 hour movie on a device. Can you say roughly how thick it'll be? I don't want to get you in trouble though. :)

Yeah, just do what Don Bagles is doing and buy it online and then just pay for overnight shipping. You'll get it ,at the latest, by Friday. (That is if it ships within 24 hours.)

yeah. that seems like the best route. but if bestbuy gets them in a day later or friday...i'll be pissed. but im thinking its gonna take at least 5 days for best buy to get them in.

any history on when iPods arrive at stores after announced(retail stores, not apple)

They won't be as thick as the original iPod Photo. I can say that much.

And yes, you're absolutely right. That's why they're making the iPod 4", because the iPod is the media player, and they need to max out it's abilities in that area. The iPhone has video as an added bonus, and they'd rather make the edges round, than give it maximum media playing features.

You know... I agree. I think it will infact look something like this. ( & I stress SOMETHING ) I just think it may come in White, Black, or Aluminum, like the new iMac. I don't know why... but I just have that feeling in my gut. My gut was right for the iPhone and the new iMac, so I'm stickin' to my gut right now. If we can, let's make a list of WHAT WE DO KNOW, I just think it will help the "visulatization" of mine, and I'm sure millions of others, new toy... :D :apple:

Don...can you confirm if the new iPod will look like that^^^^or not?

and as for what we do know....i dont know?? what do we know so far?

hopefully touchscreen. big HD. some wifi capabilities....what else?

I'm not commenting on Mockup's, and I never said anything about a big HD or Wi-Fi.

What i've confirmed so far is: Expensive, 4" screen, and not disappointing to ANYBODY.

would it be dissapointing to somebody that wants a $300-$400 iPod touch ;)
