OK, so I remembered a rumor post wayyyyyyy back that said that Apple had ordered some casing that was similar to the iPhone, but wasn't the same. I promise that it said the casing had to be done by mid-September. Could this be a sign?

would it be dissapointing to somebody that wants a $300-$400 iPod touch
I'd pay it!!! I'm truly OBSESSED with Apple products. (Honestly... I have a poster of Jobs in my closet... What? It's a big closet! lol.
) Anyway... it's like the iPhone, when I saw it, I knew right then and there that I would pay what ever it took. And I will with the iPod, and any next gen. products.

i think you hit the nail on the head....but the WOW factor needs to be big b/c according to Don(no offense) he says that sept. 5 was referring to apples homepage wayyy back saying "30 years were just the beginning welcome to 2007" and he said that this event will be like the 1984 mac intro. when steve had a 5 minute applause. so according to don....this WOW FACTOR is going to be HUGE come this wed.....we'll see soon enough....

There will be no touch screen model that costs less than $350. Colors fall into the "physical" category, i.e. I don't speak about it.
I wish they'd allow more room for signatures... I'd love to add some of my old stuff. (like an Original Mac from 1984, an Apple II, and even an eMac) I know the eMac isn't as big as the others, but still... IT'S ORANGE!! They all still work too!

Ohh... while on that subject... any news on that? lol. (No pressure, just the entire Macrumor's world is biting their fingernails off right now) lol. Just so you know, there are a few others on here that know the specs of the iPod, but they haven't revealed themselves, because they've seen how much i'm being bugged... haha.
Poor Don. It really does suck to know about stuff and not be able to tell any one, though. My dad works for a cell phone comapny and he sometimes brings home prototypes of future phones (like a year before they're released!) I didn't see the iPhone though. From a scale of 1 - 10. 1 = Like the iPhone and 10 = HOLY SH*T THAT IS "F-in" COOL AS HELL! About where does it rank. It's not givin' away anything.
Wait, ONE is the iPhone, and you're expecting a device that could be a TEN??
The iPhone and the iPod are made for different things. It's impossible to compare them like that.
A scale of coolness. 1 being iPod Photo and ten being iPhone. And it's not saying that it's like the iPhone, but it means that it will cause a riot of people waiting in line for it.
I'll be in that line. I really really need to find out if out new Apple store is open here in Louisville, KY. That would be sweet if it is! It's the first in the Bluegrass!
Apple doesn't want specs leaked even a couple hours before the presentation.
I could type up the specs, put the piece of paper in an envelope, and mail it to myself so that there's a dated stamp proving at what point in time I already knew the specs... but do you really want me to do that?

OK TELL US THIS THEN! are they shipping to best buy, apple stores, etc, on wednesday, or are they already shipping and they cent sell them until wednesday...
