Also, I like those rumors about the tablet mac. Either the new iPod has tablet mac like features.. or they're releasing a new iPod as well as a tablet mac.
hmm.

Comment made back in July, and only one day off the mark. I'm impressed. And expecting more than just an ipod now.![]()
If Apple introduces a tablet Mac on Wednesday I will kiss a pig.
Apple expected to unveil new iPod lineup
Daniel Shen, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Monday 3 September 2007]
Apple is expected to unveil its next-generation iPod lineup, including an iPod video with a touch-control interface, at a press conference on September 5, according to sources at Taiwan-based contract manufacturers.
The new iPod video will also come with a wide-screen panel, high storage capacity and Wi-Fi connectivity, the sources indicated. In addition, the new iPod video is expected to be powered by NAND flash, instead of a hard disk drive (HDD).
Apple is outsourcing the production of the new iPod video to Taiwan-based Inventec Appliances, which is expected to start volume shipments by the end of this month or in early October, the sources noted.
Apple's new products will also include a new iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle, to cash in on the upcoming Christmas season, stated the sources, who also noted that sales of the new iPod series is expected to total 22-23 million units in the fourth quarter of this year.
In addition to Inventec Appliances, other Taiwan-based makers, including Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and Asustek Computer, will also benefit from the launch of the new iPod product range, the sources asserted.

Yeah, so I think "Don Bagles" is full of it.
I think he just decided to pretend he knew what was going on...
Damn, that would make my guess wrong!make this rumor appear more legit'.
Actually, it said the nano would share the iphone interface - but that could just mean coverflow. It doesn't need to be touch screen.Nothing suprusing about the top ipod, but the nano is supposed to have a touch screen, and we still don't know about the stubby.
That comes back to my guessOn Pricing, it says the lower models are to keep their price, but nothing about the top model, which will probably cost more.

There's a parts shortage because all the parts are being bought by Apple to make a multi-touch tabletMac due to be announced on the first Tuesday in September.
theres no way that it could have been a guess.
But the event's on Wednesday. He's already wrong!![]()
I was thinking how HUGE of a difference that extra half inch would make.
"The new iPod video will also come with a wide-screen panel, high storage capacity and Wi-Fi connectivity, the sources indicated. In addition, the new iPod video is expected to be powered by NAND flash, instead of a hard disk drive (HDD)."
How can it have high storage capacity and use flash instead of a HDD? Article contradicts itself.
Hes one day out... That precise enough... Normally rumors give timescales of quarters, not even precise months... Being one day out is very close....
If he had a time machine he would have said Wednesday, and he didnt, so that rules out time travel. Being one day out two months before is something to be proud of.Maybe he meant wednesday but actually wrote tuesday.? Or maybe he was just confused.
Oh yeh and i like this nano mockup.. its soo small... Looks brilliant
A high-capacity iPod with full-on flash memory seems something of a contradiction in terms. Isn't there a major flash shortage at the moment, thanks to Apple buying up most of it? Maybe they are planning to make the thing all-flash, but for high-capacity storage a hard drive is still clearly the less expensive option.
A hybrid unit strikes me as far more likely, with main storage on HDD and a flash buffer to preserve battery life. But who knows, right?
Would it be possible for an ipod to use multiple flash drives. If you think about it flash memory is small so couldn't they make multiple drives work together to allow more memory at a cheaper price? Just a thought.
