The CANADA iPhone 5 Pre-Order STATUS Thread!

For those who bought factory unlocked phones straight from Apple, may I ask what plans you are going with? I see the 'big 3' cartel released their $70+ plans, virtually identical, as well as Koodo and Virgin (Fido will released theirs later this week apparently).

I'm a bit torn here on plans -- $73 seems exhorbitant, and wholly unreasonable considering they had identical plans at $60 maybe two months ago? I am glad I can go month to month with an unlocked phone instead of signing up and getting locked into a 3 year contract.
 
Just checked my order status, finally changed to "Preparing for Shipment".

Ordered 64GB Black unlocked at 3am est through iPhone app. Shipping to Toronto.

I ordered my 32GB black iPhone 5 at 12:03 pacific and it changed to Preparing for Shipment yesterday afternoon.

Gonna re-negotiate it when my contract expires in 2 years.

and i think they are preparing to ship the 64Gb ones first. my 16 gb ordered at 12:05 pst is still processing
 
Ottawa here and my order for a 32Gb black is preparing for shipment. I was a bit worried as lots of people in the states were getting this update within their order yesterday.
 
Are there any 16 GB iPhones preparing for shipment? So far it all seems to be 32/64 GB ones.
 
I hope it's not gonna be like last year with the 4 s. It took Apple til Wednesday to start shipping the Canadian orders and a lot of people didn't see it til the following Tuesday.
 
FINALLY! "Preparing For Shipment" ordered 3:07am EST. Southern Ontario, so should be on 21st.

Mine recently changed to Preparing for Shipment as well as Holiday Shipping.

Also still under contract - but some of the big 3 may have the % off per month for bringing your own phone.

I think Koodo was the cheapest for the monthly plan - kicking myself I didn't jump to the 6GB plan a few months back for $60. I've got a Fab10 1GB plan for $55 with Bell. Great plan, was paying almost $100 with a Blackberry before this retention plan.

Does anyone get screen protectors or anything like that, if so, where? which brand (zagg or ??)

I did read that someone contacted Apple to ask about the 16gb and they were told that the 16gb were shipping from Tennessee... And the 32/64gb were shipping from China. This is what they did with the new iPad. They stocked a bunch in warehouses prior to the launch. I would point you in the direction of that post but I can't seem to remember where I read it from.. Came across it yesterday.. Hope that might help a little.

This was the case for me last year. I hope this 'Holiday Shipping' change prevents a similar situation and we do indeed get our phones Friday.

Also, since a lot of us are at the 'Preparing for Shipment' stage, is it safe to assume the phones will be shipped by Tuesday latest? That's my bet for delivery by Friday.
 
Mine just switched this afternoon to preparing for shipping.

It also switched to holiday shipping yesterday. I ordered a 16 black/slate unlocked shipped to Mississauga.

Also got a nano sim today at south common mall Rogers plus. Was gonna charge but his till would not work so he just gave it to me.
 
Ordered a 64GB (black) from the Apple Store app, acknowledgement sent at 3:23am... shipping to Kingston. Order status has gone to 'preparing for shipment' at some point between 2pm and now.

I've got an unlocked phone, have an existing plan (30-day contract) with Bell.

Aside question... does anyone know if the new USB cable will still allow me to listen to music through my car aux connection?
 
Ordered 16g black&slate at around 12:50ish, 21-25, holiday shipping and still processing :(
