It's gone back to "Processing Items"

same here
I asked the chat support on the apple site and heres what he said:

Hello! Welcome to the Canada Apple Store! How have you been?

>hello

>my order for the iphone 5 16g black went to prepared for shipping but one hour later it went back to processing.

is there something wrong with my order?

I would be happy to help you!

>my order number is *edited out*

Just a moment while I explain.

The iPhone 5 preorders will not be shipped out until the 21st so you as long as your order has not been canceled your order is fine.

so they only start shipping on the 21st and we will expect to get it on the 22nd/23rd?

Nah I wouldn't worry. I think most of these reps truly don't know exactly what's happening. They probably see the same info you do regarding your order.

Mine has been sitting at "Preparing for Shipment" almost all day saturday and sunday. Within the last couple of hours I now have a serial number for my iPhone 5 listed in supportprofile.apple.com now though :)

My Rogers reservation for 32gb Black has moved to the "shipping process has begun" stage

Some time between 2pm and 8pm (EST) today mine went to "Preparing For Shipment."

Ordered from Apple.ca
Got my confirmation email at 3:20am (EST) on pre-order morning.

Same with me.
Preordered via Apple.ca on Sept. 14 at 12:02am PDT; shipping to Vancouver.

Order shipping changed to Holiday Shipping on Saturday afternoon.

Order status changed from "Processing Items" to "Preparing for Shipment" on Sunday afternoon for about an hour and then went back to "Processing Items".

I ordered a black 32GB from Telus at 4:07AM EST on Friday. They won't release their shipping information until the phones actually ship, according to their emails. Though according to some digging apparently Telus uses both ATS and Purolator for deliveries, so until the shipment emails come I would check reference information on both websites to see if anything comes up, tracking wise.

Glad I'm not the only one who's order's switched back and forth.

I called Apple to cancel an Applecare I got at the same time.

He also told me my shipment is now being delivered on the 25th, much later than expected. Dont know if that was true, but I asked him to confirm and thats what he said since he saw even the email they were about to send out to me telling me about shipment details. I ordered via the app at 00:10.

Hopefully its not true! This is to Vancouver as well

My extra power adaptor has shipped but my phone won't ship for 2 weeks :(
Why they didn't wait till the phone shipped for a $21 adaptor oh well it's free shipping

I ordered mine from Telus at 8am on friday. My girlfriend ordered hers that evening around 6pm.

For those who bought factory unlocked phones straight from Apple, may I ask what plans you are going with? I see the 'big 3' cartel released their $70+ plans, virtually identical, as well as Koodo and Virgin (Fido will released theirs later this week apparently).

I'm a bit torn here on plans -- $73 seems exhorbitant, and wholly unreasonable considering they had identical plans at $60 maybe two months ago? I am glad I can go month to month with an unlocked phone instead of signing up and getting locked into a 3 year contract.
I see no reason to get an unlocked phone unless you plan to do a significant amount of travel and wish to avoid roaming fees. Even then, you can pay $50 to unlock your phone anytime you wish. The plans from all the providers are identical, and you are paying just as much per month as anyone with a subsidized phone. The end result is that you are paying $520 more for your phone with almost no benefit.

This is my thinking as well... I've had a cell phone contract with Telus for over 10 years, and the Loyalty and Retentions group treats me pretty well. I have a number of perks that I wouldn't get if I switched phone companies constantly.

But to each their own... :). I do wish Telus had more information on their order status, though. Apple did a pretty good job when I ordered my "new" iPad in the spring. But since my confirmation email is time-stamped 6 minutes after the orders started, I'm not too worried. Would just like to be able to see some tracking information so I know if I should work from home on Friday. :)

For nano sims, According to a mod on iphoneincandada you can walk into an apple retail store and they will give you one for free.....
Hopefully thats true.
If I am not mistaken, the sims Apple Sore gives you are non working sims. I did that for an old iPhone 3G that I am using as iPod siting on my Zeppelin Air. Otherwise, I would had to buy one at Rogers for 15$.

In my case, i started my Contract in June of this year with a Android HTC One X phone on Rogers. It would have cost me the SAME if I would have took a Rogers-Locked iphone 5. So I can see people in my situation taking the Unlocked one too. After selling my 3-4 months old HTC One X for 400$ (minus 129$ i paid for it), it bring the cost down to 530$ for my 32GB unlock which is a lot, but at least it's unlocked hehe.

Also, regarding the comment that you can pay 50$ anytime you want to unlock, it's not true on Rogers of Fido. You NEED to wait until the Contract is Over (36 months) or you need to pay the penalty fee to break the contract + 50$ to get the unlock. You end up paying 50$ MORE than a factory unlocked iPhone bought directly from Apple.ca. It may be different on Bell/Telus, I don't know their policy.

Looks like I will be waiting a while. I didn't bother to stay up and so I ordered mine (unlocked) from Apple at 5am EDT when I woke up. Says the delivery date is October 9th. Will be a long couple of weeks.

On the other hand, my wife was eligible for an upgrade from Rogers and she ordered hers at 7:30am EDT. She is currently 14 in the queue. Looks like she will have hers long before I do. I guess I will be having device envy!

For those who are expecting Friday, good luck! Last year I ordered as soon as the Apple store opened and mine still didn't arrive until the Tuesday after the launch Friday (that is for a downtown Toronto delivery, so it isn't like I am far from a hub)!

That's really weird. I also ordered my 4S right after launch and I got mine on Friday (I'm around 35mins from Toronto in the GTA).

It's not that clear-cut. If you upgrade yearly or bi-yearly, you're not getting that new-term price. I have a 4S, to upgrade with Rogers I'd have paid over $500 AND extended my contract in the process. Instead I paid a little more for unlocked, didn't have to extend my contract, and will have a much easier time selling my phone for more next year or the year after when a new phone I want is released.

Also, that $50 unlock fee in Canada only applies after you've bought out the remaining subsidy on your phone.

Bell also offers a flat 10% off your month-to-month cost if you bring an unlocked phone to them.

The real reason I went unlocked, though, is because I'm a Rogers customer in Newfoundland. I honestly think I'm the only one left here, too. Selling a Rogers locked iPhone for any reasonable price isn't even an option here as there's nobody to buy it. I couldn't get more than $300 for my 32gb white 4S, while 16gb 4's on bell/telus routinely go for $400 or more. Brutal. My plan right now is to use the unlocked 5 on Rogers until my buyout cost has reduced significantly, and Bell offers a good 6GB plan.
