The CANADA iPhone 5 Pre-Order STATUS Thread!

Just received an Email from Apple, making the tracking number official.

There's one bit I don't like, tho!

Yikes! Despite leaving Apple on the 16th, it won't be here until the 25th.

Although, on UPS' website, it's mentioned:

Next business day for us is… well, tomorrow.

Mine says 25th too. Hopefully that's a worst case Ontario.

Time zone difference?

Oh, could be anything, especially since China's roughly half a day ahead of North America, and who knows which time zone Apple is using and which one UPS is. Just brought it up to highlight that everything actually happened a few days ago.

I expect the UPS info won't update until tonight (right now it just shows that a label has been created) and it will show it as being in their closest hub to me.

Got mine shipped to.. Label created On the 18th.. Apple says shipped on the 17th

It's not really shipped until UPS has scanned it.

It works like this:
Apple prepares the package and affix a label for UPS. This generates the tracking number.
UPS picks up the package and scans it on their tablet device. It is now considered "in transit" and fully in shipping mode.
Until this happens, they could still be at the Apple loading dock in China. I highly doubt it though. They were likely bulk sent in large pallets to Canada and UPS will individually ship them from there via next day. This makes the most sense.

This is why Apple didn't want to mark the orders as "shipped" until last night, as it is just creating so much confusion.

My direct link with Austin, TX just called me (she is currently working 10pm-7am central time). Both phones have 'shipped' and are moving from Pennsylvania via express saver, next business day by noon delivery. Not bad, especially considering I also got a free lightning to 30pin adapter and 3 lightning to usb cables no charge.

just received the shipping email from apple and it says left on the 16th and gets here on the 25th!

Even in delivery zone 1.. hopefully we all get it on Friday...

Mine got shipped like everyone else. But the email I got from apple stat that it left apple the 16th and receive on 25th??? What's the deal???

Everyone's ETA will be September 25th because it is the last date of the range they provided. The date you want to worry about is the one from UPS which will only be generated once they scan your package at pick-up, later today.

Mine says 25th too. Hopefully that's a worst case Ontario.

Ontario is a large province, with several delivery target zones ;).

I'm from Toronto, and I fall under zone 1. Still tho, different from what the map said.

But I'd like to believe the other theories/facts people have provided. It's just an Email, and Apple's doing what they can to under promise (like they always do).

Even the UPS date is wrong sometimes (for my 4S it was wrong). They're all shipping by next day guaranteed delivery, so we'll get them. You most likely won't get it by noon though, but you'll still get them by the end of the day. UPS extends their regular delivery times for tomorrow as well. I got mine around 8pm last year.

Excellent news for us all, I've also just woken up here in AB preparing for work and I see the Shipping confirmation e-mail as well. Label was created on the 17th, shipped on the 17th, UPS Express Saver, 2 lbs. -- the same details as many of you.

Unfortunately I can't take the day off to wait, and I'm not sure how to change the delivery address at this point to my workplace (not really sure I want everyone knowing that I ordered one anyways!) so I'll have to keep my fingers crossed that the UPS driver arrives just as I come home from work, or that I can rush out to the UPS pickup centre and finally have the phone. Is there any way to notify UPS to delay the delivery until 5:00 pm or so?

I'm quite optimistic, judging from the delivery type and reading the subtext and fine print, that we'll all mostly get it by the 21st if we have received this shipping email.

Congrats to everyone!!! :D

Yeah I'm in Zone 1, it was just a Rickyism.

Woke up to the shipping e-mail! Mine says left Apple 9/16 receive 9/25. My tracking number says label created 9/18. Hopefully we still get them Friday.

My experience with the iPad last time around says that the 25th is likely more accurate. I don't think a single carrier (UPS) can handle the number of shipments and meet the service standards per Apple's shipping chart....

I live in the Beaches and will be at a class tomorrow night downtown between 5-7. I have an extra nano-sim. I picked them up for 2 people here and only one person followed through to pay and I sent it out the next day. I have a receipt from the Roger's store at Queen/Hammersmith in the Beach and if you need/want it tomorrow I can arrange to meet you around where I live or where I will be at my class (John/Richmond) tomorrow just before 5:00 or just after 7:00

Dina

If I don't sell it ($9.99 plus tax) I can simply return it to the store I bought it from...

Hey! Sorry for the late reply (Haven't been following up on this thread)

Is this still available? I can come pick it up around your area this evening after your classes. I live around Markham so it's not too too far of a drive for me.

Anyways I can't seem to PM you, so if you see this and if it's still available, could you please e-mail me at danny.yl.cheung@gmail.com

Thanks! Much appreciated!

Mine says 2.00 lbs for 2 phones. Wtf

An Apple product launch is nothing in comparison to the holiday season for UPS. They can handle it.
