Just picked up a nano sim from the Rogers store on Scarlett RD. The store is located where Dixon rd turns into Scarlett rd.. For all my GTA peeps head over there

Hey guys!

I have all of the same information you guys have, so everything seems to be back on track for tomorrows delivery date. It seems like everything is being broken down at the distribution hub in Burlington.

As for people trying to get it held at the depot for pickup, there will be no such luck. As per the UPS website "Note: Prior to the first delivery attempt, contact the sender to request a change in delivery instructions or to correct your delivery address."

I also phoned them this morning and got a very rude lady that basically told me to get lost. She said "we haven't received them from Apple yet, you won't get them tomorrow" which I responded yes I will cause it's an iPhone 5 in there, you'll be delivering it tomorrow :)

So now it's the waiting game until noon tomorrow, and then I will have the phone in my hand..

Christmas in September, only Apple can do that! :)

Damn it, I was hoping i can have them hold at the depot for pick up. I just work across from the UPS depot too. :(

Well most of us got tracking numbers for our iPhone 5's this morning, and some have delivery dates of Sept 25, 2012?? UPS Site shows: Shipped on: Monday, September 17, 2012
Delivery to: EDMONTON, AB, CA

Well this is on the UPS website for the type of shipping that was selected:

UPS Express Saver™
Choose this guaranteed next-day service with morning delivery on weekdays

WOOT!!!

Still nothing from Telus with regards to a tracking number. Had my confirmation e-mail about 6 minutes after the ordering opened last Friday, black 64GB model. But I did see finally that the credit card payment went through, backdated to the 14th. Not sure if that's an issue with Telus or my bank, though.

Same here. Ordered my black 16GB at 12:20, got confirmation emails right away, but the funds sat on hold on my credit card until late last night when the charge went through. No shipping email so far...

Mined this from the @TELUSsupport twitter feed - posted a few minutes ago in response to one of the (numerous!) queries about shipping emails and delivery time:

"You should get confirmation shortly and your phone tomorrow :)"

Hope so!

I was just about to post this! I gotta say, that twitter account has been pretty clutch the last few days.

Rogers Nano SIM in Calgary?

Has anyone had any luck getting a Rogers nano SIM in downtown Calgary? I went in a few Rogers store and none of them have received them yet (or that's what they tell me).

I know I can probably get one at the Apple Store this weekend but it would be nice to pick one up today so I get the iPhone 5 up and running tomorrow when I get it here at work.

Thanks.

Thanks gonna be an early morning... Just sitting around waiting

My cousin works at UPS and he says that the 8AM deliveries are not typically :apple: products its generally Documents, credit cards, things on ice. genrally its a select few of their old timers who do the run and get to punch out early. the grunt work for most apple deliveries rolls out the door for earliest 9 am delivery. Most people who are having their phones delivered in their office in a primary city's downtown core will more then likely have their phones before lunch. This info is Montrel (Lachine) warehouse specific.

Just had to cancel my Black 16GB Iphone 5 Bell pre-order today. I got an email this morning saying I had to call in to process my order. They said due to a credit check you have to deposit $400. Anyways the person I was speaking with told me to cancel and order tomorrow since the pre-orders, and orders placed tomorrow starting 8AM SHIP the same day. I then asked what is the point of pre ordering if all the phones ship out the same time. He apologized and I cancelled. I kind of regretted not getting the white iphone since I was reading in other threads about the black anodized aluminum scratching off so maybe it was a good thing.

Just checked in on my tracking number:

Still hoping for tomorrow (going to work from home), but I won't be hugely suprised if it doesn't show up till next week.

Must be a Telus thing, my credit card was also charged late yesterday and backdated to the 14th, got my confirmation email at 1:09 am MDT on the 14th. Also haven't received any info from them re: shipping.

I got the same runaround from Telus and Telus kept saying that they can only get nano sims at a 1:1 ratio to the iPhone 5 preorders they have. I bought my iPhone from Apple unlocked and it still looks like going to the Apple store tomorrow is the best option.

Not much info here specifically about Fido pre-orders but maybe someone can help...

I preordered and got the tracking number. UPS says it was delivered but I read somewhere that they don't deliver directly to the store until the 21st. Is that true? Will my phone be delivered to the store tomorrow? How can I be sure? Thanks.

Yes its true. I have checked yesterday. They have to keep your iPhone for 8 days at the store. The seller should be call you tomorrow.

Ah, I swore to myself I wouldn't get involved in this thread because I'm already refreshing my UPS page like crazy!

But after reading a good number of posts her on MacRumors I have come to the conclusion that this is 'likely' what's happening:

Apple batch sent a huge number of iPhones to local warehouses across North America. There were reports that they were all guarded by security, so obviously Apple does not want these shipments to be looted, or sent out early. We received our 'Preparing for Shipment' status once the iPhones were shipped from China to the local warehouses. Once they arrived, they were likely unloaded, sorted and packaged for shipment (probably yesterday). Once they were packaged, printing labels were printed and assigned, hence why we now see 'Shipped' as our status. Apple is now holding onto these shipments until the last possible moment to release to UPS/FedEx so there's no risk of early delivery. My guess is that later this afternoon/tonight we'll finally see that they were picked up on our tracking page. UPS/FedEx will pick them up tonight, ship them overnight to all the Zone 1 cities, and they'll be delivered tomorrow morning.

I guess I could be really off on this, but given Apple's attention to detail, I'd suspect this was all planned out a while ago as a way to deter stolen shipments, early delivery etc.

Hope this helps peoples nerves!
