there are (or were i guess i should say) a decent number of iphone4s at futureshops and some bestbuys in the KW area if you wanted to make the drive. most 16 gbs though. the ones on telus and virgin didn't sell out overly quickly, most people were asking for rogers.
with the first iphone i got there were problems with voice control popping up constantly for no reason, taking screenshots when i just press the unlock button and nothing else, multitasking popping up and then down, and then the search would come up and go away and repeat that cycle, as well as the home button didnt work half the time.
long story short i drove to yorkdale and got a replacement : D.
and has/is anyone going to try and get a retention plan? is it even possible at this point?

Ok Apple is really pulling my string this time...
I've been waiting for my replacement phone for 6 days now (locked to Fido)
First I lost all my data/contents because I was asked to erase them all and give me a replacement but then they said "Sorry we actually don't have any stocks available and we'll call you in 3 to 5 days.
So today I call to see if I can pay extra money to bump up to 32gig since they're replacing my faulty phone anyway. The answer was "no...that's not possible.

Used to have a candyshell for my 3G. I think the PixelSkin will do a good job at protection 🙂

Just got off the phone with Telus retentions. I have 1 year left on my contract. Managed to get the iPhone 4 at $159 (new customer pricing), but have to pay a $65 fee that will be on my next bill to get that $159 pricing.
However, the rep told me the phone is not in stock right now, and to call back on August 24th when stock will be in and they'll confirm everything and ship the phone out to me, or I can go in store and pick it up.
So I agree to everything, and now waiting impatiently till the 24th. This is gonna be hard, 🙁 lol.

Finally!!! I put my name on a list for the iphone 4 at both the local Rogers Plus store (which gets in a total of two phones every week) and Future Shop. This morning, Future shop called and told me they had in the 16 gb. I raced to the future (lol) and secured one of the TWO whole iphones they got in for Rogers.
While I was activating it, an employee came by and placed eight iphone 4's into the Telus section of the display case. None for Bell. Just glad I finally got mine. Especially since it's on the old firmware, and I got to jailbreak it!! (whew on that one!) I didn't have to stand in line for twenty hours or anything silly like that.Yay for me.😀

Awesome for you. I have been on a waiting list at my local Bell store since before the launch...no luck. My wife got her 16GB model last week...but I'm still waiting. They don't seem to get many shipments at all...and haven't received a single 32GB unit yet (which is what I want). When will the supply chain finally ramp up? Bummer.....

If you knew that there was already an iPhone 4 Wallpaper thread, then why bother making a post to ask people to post wallpapers here? To bump "your" thread or to keep it going I suppose.....

It appears that resellers are receiving 2x16GB/32GB between Rogers and Fido (no separate devices for Rogers/Fido) and random intervals (usually one 16GB) from Bell and the other carriers. Seems to be once a week shipments for the moment as well. The big problem now seems to be finding places that are not doing wait lists or taking deposits. I got mine on launch day but my sister has been trying since then with no luck. She's on the third page of a waiting list at BB and everyone else says their lists are already going to take months to clear unless the shipments begin to ramp up.
Cheapest you are going to get for either is with a 3 year contract with any of the carriers.

I ordered the Otterbox Defender on the Otterbox website on August 9th. There is a little bit of a delay getting them shipped out, but they arrive really quickly when they are shipped.
My order was shipped on the 16th through UPS Express and it arrived in Vancouver on the 17th. That is the definition of express IMO.
Awesome experience shopping and ordering through the Otterbox website.
Also, look for codes that give you a discount. I got $5 off my order, so the total (with shipping) came to $58 CAN.
Just put my Defender on last night and rocking it today. It's definitely a very protective case in terms of drop protection.

I washed my wife's xenon an she is still in a contract. I am looking to get her the iPhone 4. How much would the phone be after taxes? I live in Barrie, ON and she wants the 16GB version.
Was on the waiting list for a 16gb at Rogers and I'm now 5 on the list - should have it next week. But I juste realize that the student plan (42,95$) that interested me was Blackberry only. I may have to go with Telus or ugh, Bell.
