With all this negative talk, is anyone second guessing buying the iPhone 4? I've waited aLONG time for this bad boy, but I don't want to throw money away if it's really as bad as some people say. With the signal problems/screen discolouration/rattling etc., I'm a little hesitant.

I'd still get it, these problems will most likely be fixed (*crosses fingers*)

I still want it, although part of me kinda wants to just pick up a 3GS and be done with it. My current phone is on it's last legs. I know if I get a 3GS I'll regret it when the iPhone 4 is finally released though, LOL.

By the way, I was thinking, since the iPhone 4 will be sold unlocked for the full price at the Apple store, I wonder if it will be easier to get one on launch day/shortly after. I think the majority of people still prefer to do an upgrade and get a locked phone at the subsidized price. I wonder if this will make it easier to get one for those of us who want to pay full price for an unlocked one.

It'll make pre-ordering through Apple a lot easier since not as many people are willing to buy the iPhone outright at full cost. I, on the other hand, will be doing just that. Mainly because I'm a Rogers employee and if what happened last year happens this year for the 3GS, and it most likely will, employees are forbidden to buy it as an upgrade for about a month or two.

I would wait. It will be here in only a month and we should start to hear something within a week or two at the most.

When the iP4 is released in Canada, will they (Roger's, etc.) drop the prices of the 3gs ?

EDIT:I see already 16gb 3gs for $99 and 32gb for $149 @ Bestbuy w/contract.

I'm hoping by the time Canada launches the iphone 4 all the bugs will be worked out....a second batch of phones if you will.

Can't wait till pre-orders start. Im buying mine online and unlocked :) Just out of curiosity, can you pay through Paypal through Apple's site? I've always bought my Apple products through actual retail stores.

I am definately holding off until the antenna issue is resolved. The youtube videos and news articles covering the issue are pretty conclusive. My guess is Apple is going to quietly fix the issue on new phones at some point in August.

Its ironically become such a big issue other manufacturers are using Apple's problems are sales lines for their products.

This is definately a stain on Apple's otherwise good record of build quality. I hope they take the issue seriously and do offer exchanges for the people who already purchased units and are having issues.

Do you really think it will take all the way till August to have those problems fixed in new devices?

I actually hoping (like I've mentioned in here before) that by the time it does come to Canada we'll be into the non problem batches of phones...Even though there hasn't been any official statement of changes to the manufacturing of the device I would think Apple is taking steps to correct the problem silently.

What do you all think?

Hi, I couldnt seem to find this info but. When is the iPhone going to be launched in canada?? Is there a release date yet??? And its going to be unlocked right? So how would the buying be?? Can someone just buy the phone without an contract etc for full price????

Thank You

Buy at a Bell, Rogers or Telus store, or Apple. The only thing is you can't just buy the phone, you need a plan.

But i thought it would be unlocked??? so what use would it be to buy the phone with a plan? So, i should rather just buy the phone in the states then? damn

You can buy the 8GB 3GS unlocked from the Apple store (or their online store). The iPhone 4 will also be sold unlocked in Canada. You can buy it at full price, no contract or plan required.

When you pre-order an unlocked iPhone 4 at the Apple Store, can you pay for it when you go to pick it up? Apple doesn't charge you upfront to pre-order it, do they?
