There won't be a recall.
There will be a major software update which will fix SOME of the issues, not all.

I just don't see Apple issuing a recall and opening themselves up to potential lawsuits. If they do a recall, they are admitting a hardware issue exists which will cause lawsuits. If they issue a software fix which works even for 50% of the people will issues, they will say, "oh i told you it was software" and they will pacify the other 50% with bumpers or whatnot.

With that being said, we will know the whole store in 4 hours....

Don't know if this is credible or not but our local radio station (Sonic 1029) said the iPhone 4 goes on sale next Saturday. The station is part of the rogers network, and has given away iPhone 4's in contests this week.

i did with my 3g. still a bit sluggish but still running fine. haven't had any connection issues but i do notice my bars moving a lot more and rarely full.

At least it seems like the bars will be more accurate.

4.0.1 made a slight difference on my 3G in terms of running 4.0, it's a little less infuriatingly sluggish, overall performance is a marked increase (at least to me). Signal wise, my bars are all over the place between 3-5 but I've never had below 3 at my place. I don't really use my 3G much so I can't judge "real world" use but going by the 3GS it's all good.
