I'm not quite understanding the Fido pricing that has leaked.
It states that it will cost $699/$799 for a 3 year agreement, with a bonus of $250 Fido dollars? What the hell does that going to do? Why would you pay $699 for an UPGRADE + A 3 YEAR CONTRACT?! Perhaps the editing of the source is not quite finished. There's no possibility Fido is going to charge their customers $699/$799 for a phone+3contract. Impossible -.-

17.50 for 250 plus eve 6/weekend
25 for 500mb
10 for 2500txt, vm, CID
Dunno how much my 5 is
Unlimited incoming is usually always fully credited($10)

So it's around 62.50 + my5 + tax. Plus they can fully credit the $10 txt vm CID package, give atleast $5 upto $10 data credit, unlimited incoming is credited and might give monthy credit, it's quite doable.
Very rare? Def, but def doable. I've read quite a few deals on rfd and hofo that hover around 35-40$ and have these features and maybe something else. It really depends on year of service, negotiating skills and luck to get a good csr

That is pretty much the standard one lately... $17.50 + $10 + data + tax

New customers $199

Everyone else
$699 - $250 = $449
$699 - $450 = $249

Just like last year with the early upgrades. Same thing.

Yes, Retentions is the way to go. Got a new plan from Rogers this week. Didn't have to resign either (which is what surprised me). Will have to see the bill, but so far its looking good. The rep was extremely nice. I had the offer and I didn't take it right away. I told her to put a note and then she gave me the noite number (very helpful, note it down next time).

250 weekday minutes
unlimited evenings/weekends 6PM
unlimited incoming
unlimited rogers2rogers
2500 txt/cid/vm
500 international text messages
100 Canadian long distance minutes
6GB data (w/ BB)

total is $45 + SAF + taxes = $59.xx

Now I just have to decide if I want an unlocked iPhone 4 for ~$750 (with taxes) or a subsidized Rogers phone. I would need to unlock it at some point anyways (I use the iPhone as a travelling phone primarily). For the 3G launch, I lined up outside the Rogers Plus at York Mills/Leslie and I wanted white. They ran out fast so I went home and ordered on the phone, got it 2 days later. However, I feel with the iPhone 4 might be some shortages.
Thinking of going to Fairview for an unlocked one, or super early again the York Mills/Leslie if I do Rogers upgrade.

The other thing I am concerned about is swapping a micro-sim in and out of a BlackBerry to iPhone 4. I inserted my iPad micro-sim in my 9700 just to see what would happen. It fit, but said sim was not authorized (or something like that). Hopefully they sell an adapter?

Finally, if this Bell deal for $10 sharing with iPad is true, I hope Rogers matches that. That would be great. But also, I hope that applies to having the BB data plan, so share data with BB and iPad. The BB data plan works with all phones though and allows BB services from what I understand.

Only a few more days and everything will be clear (or should be).

My plan sucks! I'm with Fido

100 weekday minutes
Unlimited weekends + evening (starting at 7pm to 7am)
Unlimited text messaging in Canada only
Unlimited Conference calls
=$25 + 6GB Data for iPhone 3G = $55 + $8 Caller ID = $63 + taxes !

I'm looking to lower this, especially if I am purchasing the iPhone 4 without a contract.
It would be nice if I was offered Caller ID free, + more minutes, or at least international calls/ or text messaging.
6GB of data is really unnecessary, I probably would only need 1GB MAX, if anything. I don't even go over 500MB a month.

Is there a better deal I can get? What does retention plan mean? I'm assuming that's a deal you guys made with your carriers after you have threatened to leave for another carrier? Haha, help me out! I want to lower my monthly bills.

I didn't want to change this into a retentions thread... that is at HOFO. I sent you a PM. Hope that helps.

That just sucks a lot. What's the difference between the $250/450 though? I am totally not interested into adding 3 extra years into what I already have... that will be 5 years with Fido.

250$/$450 isn't for everyone, it's for people who are upgrading early (before 24 month period). If you are upgrading after 2 years you can also get it for $199/$299

Question : Do I need a credit card to buy an iphone4 and the contract or can I pay with a debit card??

thx

Rogers has updated their site to confirm Friday. So that should be good for those waiting to hear if they delayed or not.

Cool, I just seen that too...at least we're one step closer to info now.

Think it will be today or Wednesday....no chance it will be Thursday, gotta give Rogers a little credit. Actually I take that back! lol

Yay Virgin Mobile officially announced on their Facebook/Twitter that they will have the iPhone 4 friday!

Perfect. I picked up my 3G on July 25, 2008 -- I just squeeked past the 2 year mark!

Did the rogers representative give you the authorization? I'm in a similar situation where the iphone 3G I currently have is on an account under my dad's name. I asked the rogers representative if it was possible for my dad to give me authorization to buy the phone myself but she said he would have to be there in person to renew my contract. Is there anything specific I should mention to the rep?

bump :D

Just get your dad to call in and authorize you on the account and then you can do everything except cancel the account. I'm still on my mom's account (for the revenue it generates) and I'm authorized level 1 so I can do all except cancel.

Thanks!
