Orca Logic are my first, and usually only, port of call in the UK. They guarantee their RAM for specific Macs and charge no postage. What's not to love?
<RAM>
Just purchased 4GB RAM (2x2Gb - £91+free postage) for my Macbook from Orca memory. I had ordered the same from Dabs several days ago, which was £15 cheaper, but they went out of stock just as I placed my order and do not know when they are getting more in.
Don't mind the extra few quid, just want to feel the full force of my new laptop! Photoshop is a bit sluggish with the standard 1GB.
Thanks for the the list, it has proved to be very useful.
The 2GB so-dimm stick of KV RAM is £27.99 at Play.com incl. p&p. I paid £128 for two of these sticks in my MBP about three months ago. Not a problem with the memory since. Whoever said that Macs were fussy about memory has his head stuck in the PPC days.
Commodity Intel equipment is much less fussy about RAM tolerances, and Kingston VR is hardly rubbish.
I see that it has just gone out of stock, but I had a stick delivered this week for another laptop. Keep an eye on this if you are looking to upgrade in the next month or so.

If i bought a 2GB stick of RAM, can i add it to the one that is already inside the iMac to make it 3GB Ram all together
is this the one i need for a 2.4 Intel Core Due 2 iMac ? or is it only for MacBooks?
Thanks allot!Yes but it wouldn't be as beneficial as having 2x2GB as this can take advantage of the iMacs dual channeling considering the prices we are talking about here I would suggest simply buying 2!
All the current Macbooks (PRO) and iMacs use PC5300 200 pin 667Mhz Ram which from what I can see is what you have at your eBay link

Buying cheap RAM is not the best idea. Sometimes it doesn't fit right, is bad when you receive it, and there is no lifetime warranty!!
- Play has what we are all looking for, for £27.99 including VAT!
Other:
Free postage technically makes it the cheapest. A good find by Weckart
I just wnated to check that the one at Play.com (link above in 1st quote) will definitely 100% fit/work in my MBP? Ta.It won't fit in your MBP.
You also want SO-DIMMs, not DIMMs

I believe so, ::Lisa::, since it says "DDR2-SODIMM" in the web address, and if I remember correctly the MBP takes 200pin sticks like these.
Thanks to you bothYep, it will.![]()

To be honest I have used Crucial and have had nothing but good tales... there company is still going so I assume that they are providing more functioning modules than duds and are therefore still in business...
Thanks for your opinion though!
That's the same for everything though.
Which is why you don't buy from retailers without warranties.
If it's bad, you send it back.
There has been alot of positive feedback for both, I suppose going cheaper is your best option!
