Yes, I don't know, but that's what they are listing for that. Probably different criteria/definitions of what that means -- I guess LG just means the panel itself, not the effective contrast ratio with the backlight array. I'll adjust it when we get more information. Your comment makes me think I should just remove it for now, to avoid confusion (EDIT: done, for the WikiPost, I've left it in the thread post).

LG's binary yes/no specifications they use on their site are mind-numbingly bad. I think if I sat down and tried to think of the worst way to present the information, that might be it.

The LG's array of 9,216 LEDs (4x 2,304) makes me wonder if the Apple Studio Display XDR also uses multiple LEDs in each MiniLED zone... If not, that seems like a significant difference. "Hyper MiniLED" sounds good, but it could mean the LEDs, while smaller, are cheaper and maybe not as precise as those used in the Studio Display XDR.

Cant wait to pre-order the LG 27GM950B-B. As much as I would like to get the XDR I cannot justify 3500€ for a monitor ...
 
Same here seems tempting. Except of course my old thunderbolt display died over the weekend and I had to plug a 40” full hd television to the computer. Not sure I could bare that for several months. 😭

It has USB4 port for display and charging. Otherwise I agree, however

It is 40% cheaper than Studio Display (that doesn't even support HDR) and 70% cheaper than Studio Display XDR.

It certainly isn't Apple-beautiful, and the promo video makes me a little worried that the case is not even black but a purple-gray. But, it has better specs than the ASD for less. It will be a big upgrade for my 2016-era 4k with bigger bevels. I already have a webcam, speakers, and a Thunderbolt hub. I want 5k with higher refresh and Windows connectivity for my gaming PC.
 
The market for displays that can easily connect to both Macs and gaming PCs/game consoles on the same desk is VANISHINGLY small, yet the nerds on these forums act like it's some egregious error on Apple's part not to emphasize it. Ignoring this irrelevant user group is intentional.

Could be, but we do have a large presence in our enterprise of developers with both a PC and Mac for work. Having a nice display that can handle both docks plugged in, allowing easy switching is a big selling point.
