The dreaded email of death. 'We're Working on Your Order' [MERGED]

The date April 24th is included in this email, no? Sure, I wouldn't put all my faith in a Friday delivery, but nowhere in the email does it say "You won't get your watch until next week." Friday hasn't been 100% ruled out by this message. So much negativity around here!

Just got the email of death just now. No watch for me on Friday :(

Your Apple Watch will be delivered between April 24th and May 8th. When your order ships, we'll send you an email with a specific delivery date and tracking information.

I am sure that it wasn't sent to people because they won't be getting it on Friday, simply to encourage people to be patient, and there is a chance they won't get it Friday, just like the original shipping estimate said when they ordered.

I've been pretty patient with everyone's general levels of concern and angst and whatnot, I have some of it myself, but the sheer superstition levels with this specific email are way out of proportion.
 
I think they hoped that sending something like this to those of us that are still processing would ease our fears a little bit. It does include the date 4/24 after all. But in fact it obviously is making people freak out more.

its a typical lazy apple marketing cover your ass "reminder" email of the delivery window.


They know we are constantly checking and have access to lots of peer info (like this forum) to raise expectations which means higher than needed call volume and support hours wasted...

If it was going to ship your card will get charged and apple store status would change. Simple right? :mad::mad::mad:
 
Pissed off. Just got the email...oh well at least now I can stop checking my status every 15-20 minutes. Odd thing is nobody who has the pink sport has gotten a "preparing for shipment". Oh well. **** it.
 
How is the email of death? I understand it will worry you but it still says between April 24 and May 8th. So you can STILL receive it Friday.

what does Apple Store know about my order? Angela clearly stated that Apple Store will NOT carry Apple Watch. It's like getting a traffic ticket from the Marine Corp.
 
OMG, someone please give me a sanity check. WHY do you guys believe it means you're not getting your watch?
 
Got this email only for one of the watches I ordered... The one that is prepared for shipment never had this email sent out. It was only sent out for the one that was processing.
 
At least you have an update. Better than being stuck in the cold without knowing anything. Which is where I am at.
