Can even one person here cite ANY source or logic that makes this email mean your delivery date is not 4/24? "The other thread said so" is not a valid source.

It's a reasonable assumption. Is it a statement of fact? No.

But, frankly, I'd pretty much written off Friday delivery already. No one knows what Apple is planning except for Apple. But this kind of message usually means that they want to emphasize that they didn't promise launch day delivery.

Got this email at 11pm EST USA. It's a reminder that they never guaranteed launch day delivery

I have a 38mm SG Sport ordered at :04. People who have been charged have not received this email.

Basically means next week..

I just got this ********. Order placed :04. Long-time loyal launch day buyer. Meanwhile Pharrell, Katy Perry, and Beyonce are just given theirs. It would be cutting off my nose to spite my face, but I feel like taking my business elsewhere. Jobs wouldn't tolerate this.

yea I'm processing. Would be funny if they sent this email out thinking hey this might put them at ease!

why do people think this is a good thing.

Its a bad thing, a VERY BAD THING that none of us have gotten shipment emails and we get this working on your order BS,

meanwhile people in all the other threads are popping champagne and throwing their tracking numbers down into UPS/FedEx. They didn't get this crap email.

Got the email of death. On the phone with Apple.

Do let us know what they say.

I mean, honestly, it's not like preorders went up last week.
They've had almost 2 weeks to get this together; in fact we were promised EARLY 2015. MAY IS NOT EARLY 2015.
I stayed up till 2 am, put down a ridiculous sum of money without even seeing the product and now this.

I still the Apple Watch is a great product, but I'm very unhappy with Apple right now. I'm willing to gracelessly wipe that egg off of my face come Friday if mine shows up; but that is looking rather doubtful at this point.

I'd be less upset if I hadn't already been charged for Apple Pay on a watch that doesn't even exist yet.

I've been pretty patient with everyone's general levels of concern and angst and whatnot, I have some of it myself, but the sheer superstition levels with this specific email are way out of proportion.

I think it is ridiculous the amount of people who are upset that they *might* not be getting it on Friday. It stated very clearly when the order was placed that it may not arrive until May 8th.

Sure it is fine to be an optimist and want it on Friday. It is always natural to want something and be a part of the fanaticism on the first day people get them.

But the fact is Apple never promised delivery by Friday from the very beginning. The greater fact that they could not promise a Friday delivery has been a bigger issue which has long been talked about related to fact that you also won't be able to buy one in a store on Friday.

This launch is complicated, and supply is clearly constrained in some areas.

Personally I am just happy that I am going to get mine on or before May 8th. That is all I can really ask for based on the expectations that were set by Apple when I placed my order. That is basically the only "guarantee" that I have got from Apple as a customer.

Sometimes it sucks to be a highly demanding customer who is heavily invested in a company's products, but life is too short to be pissed off. Enjoy the fact that they actually made a product you want, and that you will get it someday soon.

A few days is better than the months we have been waiting already.

And this is all worst case. Best case is we all get them on Friday and hurray new shiny thing.

I ordered two watches on two orders at the exact same time. The 38 SS w/ black sports band changed to "preparing for shipping", while the 42 SS w/ milanese got this "email of death."

The email is clearly designed to let people know who aren't going to get their watches on Friday that they will get them soon.

Email of Death - Not Received?

For anyone who hasn't received the "email of death," comment below. I'm assuming we don't want to receive the email? However, doesn't mean we won't get it on Friday as the email still states 24/8..

yea I'm processing. Would be funny if they sent this email out thinking hey this might put them at ease!

If they meant to make us feel better it would say "YOU'RE GETTING YOUR WATCH FRIDAY. RELAX" in the subject line.

Just got it myself for my 04:24 order. Too bad I wasted time trying to combine my two watch orders using the Apple Store app. The way it went straight to checkout threw my off and was worried multiple orders could cause an issue. At least I should be able to play with my wife's watch if anything LOL

My question: Is there anyone who is Processing who hasn't gotten the email? and: Is there anyone who got the email who isn't Processing?

I guess I'll try one more time: how does "your watch will be delivered between April 24 and May 8th" mean "your watch will not be delivered April 24"?

Explain like I'm five.

too all those who are saying this email doesn't mean anything

i have to say that yes, it might not mean anything

BUT

i been doing this a long time, and my gut is SCREAMING at me that this is a pre-emptive e-mail to help lessen the blow when they remind us tomorrow that it is a delivery WINDOW and that models like mine, the 38mm space gray sport, aren't going to be delivered at all until later, even though people like me got in a 12:03.

Sorry but this feels exactly like a cover your ass e-mail. It just does. Let's hope I'm wrong.

I just got one as well. :( I hope this doesn't mean I won't be getting mine on launch day... Still holding out hope.
2:02 order time --- Sport space gray 42mm.
I'm in North Florida
