You are rare indeed. What I love is with those that feel the need for speed, is to wave or nod at them when we catch each other at a traffic light.

To be honest though, driving at the speeds you stated can and will induce anxiety whether you know it or accept it.

For sure. My heart races sometimes but its the same feeling I would get on a roller coaster. The high of taking a risk.

All well and good for yourself, but actions such as yours may have ramifications that you are not aware of. At 90 to 100 mph, even in the DC area - you are weaving in and out of traffic to maintain that speed.

I hope that you live in the Dakotas or Wyoming in order to travel at such speeds. For I have seen people traveling speeds like you stated, that have caused accidents in their wake.

I live in Cleveland and drive the same stretch of highway most of the time so i have it memorized. Where cops will be, where traffic gets heavier, where I need to watch for merging cars etc. I do though at rush hour have to weave to mantain that speed and sometimes have to slow down to 70.

I guess the question I have for you is, why do you feel the need to break the law as you so readily have stated you have done? Keep in mind most of us understand that with speed limits, there is a certain "grace" provided - whether it is 5 or 10mph over the posted limit.

Im rebllious? I guess that would be it. Ive never been very keen of being told what I can and cannot do. Id rather use my own judgement instead of being patronized by overly-conservative laws.

Do you feel that stop signs or traffic signals are for those that can't safely decide when to stop? Or do you feel that it is OK to steal an item from the 7-11, because the line at the register was to long and would delay your day? Or do you feel it is OK to cheat on your taxes, because the government already gets their "share"?

"Laws" are there to guide us and to provide some protection or benefit. These laws can be religious based (thou shall not steal...), common law based (a good days wages for a good days work...), or as simple as one is to observe the posted speed limit (regardless as to what you or I may think about the posted limit).

Id rather not be a rat in a maze doing exactly what i should so im not shocked

Are you saying that we can pick and choose the "laws" as we see fit? I don't think so.

For in some ways speeding on the roads is like the "broken window syndrome". In which a car can be on a street, for days on end, without a scratch on it. But break a window on that car, and it be stripped and defiled in a matter of hours, if not just a couple of days.

IMO, one can only look at the disrespect of the "law" in the past 20 to 30 years in order to see how we treat each other in the day to day dealings. It has become a situation that "I am more important" than you. And that is what "laws" were set in place to prevent.

I doubt law-breaking would be the main motive of our lately selfish behavior obbvious in our day-to-day dealings. Id rather blame it on whoever came up with the utter ******** idea of the American Dream.

My replys are all in bold where they pertain.

Driving at 100mph induces anxiety? For whom? Maybe the other people on the road... ;)

If you tense up at 100mph, you should stick to the back roads.

how can i increase hp?

I have personally done 115 in my 2001 kia rio :D I think I may have even been able to go faster if I had another mile of road. Ha Ha

By the way does anyone know how I can improve my 01 kia rios hp without spending more than a few hundred bucks? I'm kind of on a budget since I'm going to school. Thnx

I may have gotten up to 90MPH for a very short amount of time, but usually I dont go more than 5 or 10 MPH over the speed limit, which where i live you really have to do, or else someody will start tailgating you.

K&N cleanable air filter will give you a few.

I often do 160km/hr (100 mph) when I trek out to visit family.
I only stop there because the computer in my truck cuts off the fuel at that speed.
On the very boring flat straight roads it seems slow at times.
The scenery looks like the duplicated animated backgrounds you see at times :)

I got to 125pmh in my 1996 Ford Fiesta (UK). Whoops, down the M6 from J27 at Standish to Ashton/Haydock at J24. It was fun. I could have got about 130/135 but that would have been max. I just slowed down, then thought wow, i just did 125! Then I thought sod it and stuck to a more decent 80mph for the rest. :)

Fastest that I'll admit to was 134 MPH over a timed flying quarter mile and I was still accelerating. It was on a closed road motorsport event and the car was a home built sports special powered by a radial 12 lycoming aircraft engine. And yep, it was scary.

Edit: Oh that's just over 215 KPH.

The fastest I've ever driven was 126MPH in my parent's Acura Legend back in 1990. I was out on a date with my girlfriend, and I had to have her back home by 12:30AM (her father was one of those scary guys you didn't want to take any chances with)!

110mph (177kph) indicated in a 1.6l Focus Zetec. It was around midnight on an empty, recently surfaced dual carriageway on my way to get my girlfriend from work. It's the only road I'd ever consider driving at that speed on in that car, there's no chance of any wildlife or pedestrians, and visibility is good to see other cars.

I personally cant drive but i have been a passenger in a Renault Espace doing 136mph in France. Bloody Belgian was a crap driver and did not want to let us pass on the motorway.

I hope you didn't take that while YOU were driving...

Fastest I've driven myself, about 75 MPH in a 2007 Ford Focus. My dad was going nuts, it's pretty dangerous to drive on mountains with nearly right angle curves :p. (He's teaching me to drive, thinks I should learn early.)

The fastest I've ever been in, 120 MPH in a 1999 Ford Escort, with a friend's mom. I was a passenger.

Unlike most teens these days, I can drive stick and I don't even have a permit :D

Me driving, about 140 kph
Someone else with me in the car, 240 kph. Then the **** picked up his cell phone and started writing a SMS! Needless to say, that's the last time I ever got on a car with him
