I respect it. I just love all black.I'm not a good person either, I don't have gold jewelry either....
But for some reason I always get the gold phones
Not a real fan of the gold. Brings me back to the gold 8 Plus where I initially loved it because it was new and different but quickly changed tune over a short period of time when case options were quite limited and I just didn’t love it like I did when I first got it.
Went to the PR 8 Plus which looks super nice but again case options an issue lol.
My next will be Space Grey 100 percent. The silver is enticing because you can buffer out frame scratches but don’t think that’s enough for me to go against SG. Want the unlimited case options and SG just looks so clean and sleek.

Stunning! Beautiful. How did you get that effect? If I could get mine to look like that, I might keep it, instead of exchanging it for Space Gray (as I plan to tomorrow).
Thanks! I just set it on my black glass desk with a pink Philips Hue Go light off to the side of it and tried to get just the right amount of light coming in from the window.
You must be color blind. I see a Silver iPhone. Go back to Apple and exchange it for a Gold color.
Apple just can't seem to make up their mind of these SG and Gold colors.. they seem to change the shade each time they release a new phone. However, I am so totally over the SG. I opted to now with the gold and it looks really nice. However, the real deal is most people use cases and so that back and frame will likely be covered anyway. I did go the Blue Horizon Silicone case for mine, I can see the frame a little at the bottom and the blue case really sets it off.
Those that think people just get gold to show off... I mean come on man, we all grown ass men and women. It's a freaking phone not a status symbol. Maybe you just get SC because you are boring and have no taste. Nah... everyone should get the color they want this is why they make it in 3 colors.

My wife got her silver X today.
I have a 7+ in flat black that is fine except for the size, I tried it for a couple years but miss the smaller form factor, too active a lifestyle for a phone that big.
I have had a black iPhone since the the 3 and have never deviated. But this time I caved and went gold...

You should try the Otterbox Symmetry Stardust case. It is clear with little flecks in it that shows off your phones color but gives it a slight shimmer. My absolute favorite case for protection with a slight touch of sparkle. Or opt for just clear and still show off your phone color.

Me neither. It gives me an ache in my brain whenever I look at it. I want to return it for the SG tomorrow, but people are saying I should give it 13 more days.
I don’t know. I can’t imagine changing my mind and falling in love with the Gold before then.
If you don't love it now, you just don't. Get one you'll be happy to look at with out getting a brain ache
I can definitely agree that this color surprised me, to say the least! I’m going to gauge my reaction to it over the next couple of days before admitting that I prefer it over Space Gray.

The gold is simply beautiful/ I bought a XS Max for my sons 31st birthday. I didn’t open it but when he did to activate it

I love the gold stainless band and my gold stainless watch because I like how it reminds me of the Steampunk color palette. I don’t actually own anything Steampunk but I always admired the look and had some Steampunk sims when I used to play Sims.
I’m not entirely sold on the glass color. But then again I had the white X and didn’t much care for that after awhile nor the space gray my husband had. Of the 3 available colors I guess this gold is my favorite. But I think jet black iPhone 7’s and my Product Red 8 Plus are what I prefer in terms of colors of the cases themselves and not just the metal banding.
For Christmas I hope to get a saddle brown leather case to complete the Steampunk color palette for my new gold Max.

Well white stainless trim to me seems classic. But I agree that putting a nice black d-brand skin on the backs of these phones could give them a really impressive look.
I don’t see why everyone needs max over regular. I will stay the gold sucks in pictures and videos. I own one you have to see it in person. It is so beautiful in person.
I had the gold some years ago but in order to try to maximize the screens appearance, I went with a black-bezeled phone instead of white faces. Now the the entire front is glass, I'll see how this gold looks and go from there. I, too, won't use a case as they're doing well with damage resistant materials, or at the least a clear-case.

No, not because of thread, but because people cared what color is "girly" and what color is "manly" long time ago.
Call me old fashioned but I care. I’m not in the slightest interested in all that political correctness, lefty “it’s 2019 no one cares” sanctimonious nonsense. If I’m psychologically predisposed to worrying how others “may” judge me and trust me, there’s millions of us, then you bet I’m gonna be mindful of how I carry myself, my style, clothes and yes, my possessions. Not saying I couldn’t pull of a pink iPhone, if I wanted..I’m saying it’s within my nature to care/worry how others judge.
Regardless, I don’t buy into the whole social media’s obsession with living our lives in a fake bubble where ‘no one cares’. Outside that bubble is the real world, real life and people judge. Period! And I’m merely a creature of habit with no shame in admitting that I care what people think.
