i know it will vary by location, but can anyone comment on how many phones your AT&T store had available for the non-pre order folks, e.g. the line waiters?
Yes you cant manually focus it, but it does its best to focus on the subject.

Thanks for the video, Matt. I am guessing outdoor with better lighting will give you better videos than indoor, looks very blurry to me. Wasn't expecting much but I am sure the jailbreak video recording apps will improve upon Apples design.
can we see some photos taken with the 3gs? of the new headphones, perhaps?

Screen differ from iPhone to iPhone. There is no iPhone 3G or iPhone 2G screen. Apple uses a lot of different screens. It's finally Friday, July 19. Lines will start to form in Apple Stores and AT&T stores across the US in about an hour. This thread is for iPhone 3G S owners to post their first impressions, or just brag that they have an iPhone 3G S. I'll be getting my iPhone 3G S in a few days from the online Apple Store.
One thing I'm particularly interested in that seems to have never really been mentioned is how the screen compares to the iPhone 3G. I know that the difference between the screens on the iPhone 3G and the first-gen iPhone were night and day. The warmer color temperature improved color accuracy, blacks were much deeper and whites were purer, the screen was much brighter (I normally used my iPhone at full screen brightness and that didn't feel bright enough, I can use the iPhone 3G at 30% and it's bright enough), and it was just better overall. That was one of my favorite things about the iPhone 3G. From videos I've seen of them side-by-side, the iPhone 3G seems to have a better black level, but colors might be less accurate. The oleophobic screen will be interesting, too. I wonder if that will change the feel of the screen's surface as well as reducing fingerprints.
No, the iPhone resizes photo's when you email them.I've noticed the camera is taking pics in 800 x 600 :/
