Funny you mention that. I was walking with two apple bags, each with a 128gb tmobile unit and a smart case. In the back of my mind I thought about that. I got one for my wife since she hijacked my iPad one. Ain't cool to show up home with a new toy and not bring one for the wife. :D

The staff at the Apple store are definitely a cut above. These guys really are enthusiastic about their work and are very helpful.

Other store could learn a lot from Apple.


About the t mobile deal, both of ours have the tmobile sim inside. Never being tmobile customers made no difference. All you do is go to cellular options in your iPad and register a new account and you get your 200mb free service, no problem. It did not even ask for a cc.

I had to wait about 30min inside the apple store even thought I chose instore pick up and showed up 6hrs after launch.

The good news is I called apple and explained to them that Walmart and co. had the air for a lesser price, and they offered me a smart case at no charge.
 
Pre-ordered a 16GB WI-Fi space-gray model at 2:40am last night on apple's site. In the morning found out I could pick one up at the Target 4 blocks away for $479+ tax. Got the last one of that configuration at 9am. Cancelled my Apple order and saved $45 altogether after my Target Red Card discount, plus not having to drive to an Apple Store 1hr round-trip.
 
Hmm I ordered this morning at 6am, got a prepared to ship on my 128gb Air from AT&T this afternoon, so I figured next week sometime, checked now for the heck of it and it says that its scheduled to ship between 11/12 and 11/21 WTF??

Did they run out of 128's ? Why would I get a prepared to ship and now have to wait almost 2 weeks, this sucks

Totally had the...make sure no one os watching following me moment. I hid it under some clothes in another shopping bag. Paranoid, perhaps but safety first :)

Got the 128 gb Att slate gray. Love it!!! Coming from an iPad 3. So much lighter and the screen is beautiful!!
 
very disappointed in at&t I ordered at 5 am, it took till 2 pm to process my order, which now means they are telling me that my order for a 128gb AIR is backordered and I'm not going to get it till 11-12 to 11-22, very disappointing as I was not told this upfront. 8 hours to process an order sucks. I would have made other arrangements had I known.
 
32GB silver T-Mobile version.

Ordered from their website yesterday at 10AM, paid for Saturday delivery and it was just delivered!!!
 
Got a 16GB Silver WiFi yesterday from Best Buy for $479...also bought the blue Smart Cover, but will probably return it and get a RED one from Apple...Best Buy was overpricing them at $49 so **** them...might return the iPad and swap it for a 32GB model but not quite sure yet
 
Just got mine from BestBuy! I originally ordered it with Apple, but didn't want to make the drive out to the store when BestBuy had the model I wanted.

Ordered mine on Friday, 2 minutes after launch with express delivery but UPS haven't shipped it yet (Apple site said it should be here tomorrow)
anyone in the same boat?

OMG! That means you have about $3083.00 taken out for taxes and retirement everymonth.
That's just F...n Crazy!
I am an IT specialist but here in Oklahoma our taxes are decent,I do have retirement too,but thank god only a little over $500 comes out of my check every month.
I don't know how you do it.
California is a great state,my Mom lived there.But you couldn't pay me to live there with the high cost of living and taxes!
Here in Oklahoma you can get a 2000 sft 3 bed nice house around $100K.
For the same house in CA you'd be paying over $500K
I guess you really have to love living there.
 
Walked into AT&T around 10:15 Friday morning. Walked out with a white and silver 32GB ipad Air at 10:30. The store had 3, pure luck!
 
I ordered from Apple's website. It said shipping within 24-hours. It has been 3 days and no news since the initial email saying my order is being processed.

yeah but I guess it all balances out in the end no matter where you live.
 
As, an update. The tracking of UPS shows that they have not picked it up yet.
Ordered Friday, it is now Wednesday in China where it is shipped from. So much for "shipping within 24 hours".
 
Finally upgrading

from original iPad (1) to the iPad Air. Looking to hold both in my hands to see and feel the difference... :)
 
Playing right now with my new 32GB Slate AT&T model. Setup/restore was a breeze, the screen is perfect, the functioning has been perfect thus far. Just a lovely unit. BestBuy was the choice - I had some reward points to use and they were the closest. Also had a decent selection, not all the stores did.

Very pleased. :D
