Today is my 7th day in "processing". All it says every day I check is "Available to ship: 7- 10 business days - Delivers: Oct 8 - Oct 11 by Standard Shipping"

I ordered the 32GB Space Grey (unsubsidized T-Mobile) version around 12pm-1pm (EST) on launch day (Friday). Anyone else order around or before this time with a full paid version from the Apple Store?

I ordered the silver 32 GB(T-Mobile) around 2pm on 9/20/2013 pacific time. Displays the same thing: Processing Items Available to ship: 7- 10 business days
Delivers: Oct 8 - Oct 11 by Standard Shipping

At least you know when to anticipate your package. For me, all it says is "backordered" with no order status (or any kind of estimated delivery time). Should have ordered through apple's website instead of tmobile's.

Same here. I just figured T-Mobile would be easier with the payment plan.

Looks like everyone who ordered from t mobile is gonna be waiting a while. Is it because t mobile is the least popular carrier? I got my 16gb gold also on back order.

Just got my 32GB Gold

Foiled by an incompetent or lying UPS driver.

I ordered @ 12:01 am 9/20, got on the first batch out of China. My initial delivery date stated a 9/26 delivery. On 9/25, my UPS status changed to a delivery date of 9/25. I waited all day on the 25th to no avail, on 9/26, I was chatting with UPS online asking why my package wasn't delivered on 9/25 as stated. The operator told me the actual package didn't arrive on time to be put on the delivery truck (even though the status said it was 'out for delivery'), that it was a mistake.

Finally the package was delivered on 9/26 @ 6:35 PM! The driver was asked what the hold up was and his reply was 'I didn't know the package was on the truck yesterday!'. Very disappointed the way UPS operator lied to me during the online chat. I've never had a problem with UPS until now, but it sure did piss me off.

Anyone else ordered from the 23rd and on? If yes, have you already received the message saying the shipping was made or is preparing?

apple shipping logistics

you know i never understood apple's shipping logic .. with a huge distribution of stores around the country - why don't they simply fulfill the online orders (hopefully in a FIFO queue) out of the local branches? Why are we always forced to make a decision about things like canceling the online order and go trolling the local stores? I mean the shipments are already coming in .. it seems to me that they could be saving a huge amount in packaging, and shipping costs and logistics simply by bulk shipping to their distribution points (aka stores) and then sending an email for people who ordered online (say in a 25mi radius) if they'd like to just go and pick theirs up

<rant>
after the many years of doing this .. i'm beginning to find it pointless to be waking up at 3am EDT - fighting with the online system to get my information in (only to find that i need to delete the 3:01am item from my basket, because AT&T didn't update my address and won't refresh the change i had to make after their system came online around 3:07 unless i remove/re-add it to the basket then adding an additional 17min to the original order time and then putting me in the 7-10 day category for the 1 non-gold model that went that way) .. only to discover that there's plenty of stock of the model I'm after showing up every day at the local stores and is typically the one that people at the stores aren't going for ..
</rant>

c'est la vie .. for all the innovations they've done in online and retail management - i'm surprised that very little has been done or innovated around their shipping logistics and order fulfillment

Agreed... I guess.

But in a sense, I think this whole launch has been a clusterf**k. When Apple introduced a new colour into the fold, it changed manufacturing dynamics. On the one hand, Apple could just have been overly cautious in how the market would respond to the new colour. On the other hand, the only difference between a gold model and your standard black and white, is the fact that the exterior is gold.

Apple could have simply shifted manpower into overdrive towards the making of the gold phone, if indeed the demand is as great as it is reported.

Personally I think that it's ridiculous that someone who ordered on launch day, missed the first batch of shipped phones, by a few minutes (or even seconds). Apple should be just as concerned in completing online orders, as they are in restocking the brick and mortar stores.

An easier solution would have been to reverse their strategies at launch. The 5s should have been on "pre-order" since the 13th, and the 5c launched along side the 5s on the 20th.

That way, Apple would have had the extra week to understand where the true demand lies.

UPS supposedly came by in the afternoon. An attempt was supposedly made. UPS can either call the management office or use a custom code to get in. No note was left indicating that UPS came by. I had to go to the UPS will call office. There were at least 3 other iPhone pick ups.

Im getting super anxious!

Who else here is waiting for the iPhone 5s to get shipped again. I just want it to come in...dammit!!! lol

Who's with me?

I ordered a 64gb silver iPhone 5s tmobile unlocked at 12:35 on sep 20, still processing, Delivers: Oct 7 - Oct 10 by 2-3 Business Days :(

I'll be out of town for a week and I thought I'll have my iphone before I'm gone, now I hope it will be waiting for me when I come back :p
