This is truly disappointing. There seems to be some Gold 5s flowing out of China, and mine is not one of them. Oh well, maybe by the end of the weekend... hopefully.

Mine came yesterday the 27th about 1300. Ordered it at about 0400 Eastern on the 20th. Shipped from China on the 25th. So about seven days from order to arrival.
Still kind of hard to believe that you can get essentially second day air from China to rural New England.

Finally a Delivery Date!
Ordered 32gb ATT Gold via the App Store on 9/20 at 12:05 am and just received a UPS tracking number with delivery on 10/2 - Next Wed. I did not specify expedited shipping. The original estimated delivery date was 10/8 to 10/11.

Anyone who ordered on the 21st from the apple store had any updates to their order? (I'm expecting it to take a while especially as those who ordered within the first few minutes on launch day are just getting theirs to prepare for shipment/are being shipped).
OK my phone was ordered from apple.com around 9am EST on 9/20. (16gb - AT&T - gold). Anyone seeing any movement on order/shipping status who ordered around the same time/similar phone? I spoke to Apple to see if it was worth switching to the silver phone but at this point the gold or silver would probably arrive at the same time he said (most likely mid-October). Not TERRIBLE but so anxious! Just wondering if anyone else saw any movement.
I ordered a space grey 16 gb from Verizon's site early afternoon on launch day and hoped I could find one in stock this weekend so I could cancel my order. I did that when I got my 5 last year and lucked into one 3 days after launch at radio shack. Unfortunately, BBM's site said they had some in stock this morning so I drove down and that was not the case. I popped into RadioShack and a corporate vzw but all said they can only order and won't have any in stock until November 1st.
I suppose I'll just have to wait for delivery this time around as the closest apple store is 100 miles away. It isn't the end of the world though. I'll just have to deal with my backup phone (Palm Pixi Plus) until 10/7. Haha

Ordered 1:01 AM on Sep. 20th from the German Apple Online Store. Grey/32GB. Status changed to "Preparing for shipment" today (Sep. 28), after 5 business days. Shipping estimate remains at "ready for shipping in 7-10 business days".
I hope for delivery in the coming week (Shipping Monday, delivery Friday).

Canceled my Apple order of 21 September for a 5S Space Grey 64GB last night and placed the order with AT&T about an hour later.
Got my shipment notification this afternoon with estimated Fed Ex delivery of Monday, 30 September after 8 pm.
(My thanks to the guys who posted similar experiences with AT&T so that I could do the same.)

I canceled my online order for my Verizon 64GB Space Grey 5S today after confirming my local Apple Store had it in stock (they had several left it turns out). I called the Apple Online Store while I was in the local Apple store, canceled my online order (was in 7-10 day group). My Verizon upgrade was freed up within a few minutes. I walked out of the Apple store 5 minutes later with my new 5S in hand. I'm very impressed so far! The 5S is one hell of a nice piece of technology! Thank you Apple!

Best buy or target preorders
Has anyone ordered/reserved one from the best buy or target store? I figured since they weren't selling online they might get some in store faster but that has NOT been the case. I tried lining up at the Mall of America this morning and of course they had no gold 16gb iphones. ugh.

Was able to go into Best Buy tonight and get a 64GB silver iPhone 5S for Verizon.
It looked like they had a fairly decent supply of silver/space gray when they opened up the thing to get my phone out. Which was interesting because I called the local apple stores and they said they had none left.
The person in front of me got the last gold one, but she was exchanging her current gold one because something was wrong with it.

I didn't have luck at the Apple store in Santa Barbara, CA. I found it odd that I had asked for a 5s and was told they had none in stock. Yet they sold 3 while I was there. Granted, I don't know the background of said phones, but fishy nonetheless.

woah! just got an e-mail from at&t saying my 32gb gold iphone is on it's way and will be at my office on monday!! they had originally said 21-28 business days and had quoted that i would get it october 21-29, so this is an awesome surprise (a month early)! only a week and a half after i ordered it over the phone!
Just ordered an iPhone 5s, silver unlocked 16 G from Apple Store, standard delivery, chick wants one. Date is "October," so no change this weekend if you are ordering online.

If you're still processing on a 16GB gold, can you give me your time of confirmation? I ordered at 3:50 AM est. That's only 50 minutes after launch. Trying to track down where they are in the line right now.

I have heard horror stories coming from best buy I wouldn't act until you go up there and actually see the iPhone in the employees hand
