I remember that we had a google spreadsheet for I guess it was the iPhone 5?

Anyways, maybe it's interesting to see how far orders are, and if there's a pattern in the way Apple delivers the phones.

I have heard horror stories coming from best buy I wouldn't act until you go up there and actually see the iPhone in the employees hand

It only takes 5 minutes . Would just cancel it once you are in the store

32GB Gold ordered at 3:08am EST on 9/20... 7-10 business days / Oct 8-11 delivery estimate.

As of last night (9/28) around 8pm EST I was switched to "Preparing for Shipment."

yeah, i figured as much - That's why I think it's best to go to the store, make sure that they have it, then you can cancel your order from your current iphone and then wait a couple minutes and the upgrade should be available again

Thanks for the advice - HOWEVERRRRRR I did wait until I got to Best Buy to see the phone, and lo and behold I cancelled my online order and have a new AT&T Gold 5s in hand!!! It seems they had some "no shows" when it came to iPhone reservation pick ups - so after 72 hours of "no show" they'll sell the phone!

The good thing about Best Buy is that you can check nearby stores availability - which is what I did, then called to confirm, then raced over to the store. So far, so good with this phone!! still setting it up but I am loving ittttt!!

I would think Verizon because people who ordered after me on launch day got their phones before I got mine - could be because I ordered a gold one 64gb too

i'm in the same boat. just order it from apple and continue your search. If you happen to find one before it ships then you can cancel your apple order and get your upgrade back within 5 minutes.

When I went to Best Buy this morning they told me they got a lot of Verizon stock - not sure what's left but at least you can check the model you want online for store availability. I was able to get the Gold (for AT&T though) this morning, and there was a bunch of other people tehre getting 5Ss (not sure what carriers). They are also doing a reservation program where you can basically put your name on a waiting list, and they said they get them in pretty often.

HA I sound like i work for Best Buy. But I had such a quick/painless experience this morning. Hopefully that helps!!

Saw that Best Buy had stock online. Called to confirm they had them, they said yes but could not reserve any over the phone. Drove to the store. Got my white iPhone 5S 32GB AT&T. In and out in under 30 minutes.

Best Buy's online inventory said they had some white on Friday. Drove over but a kind of ditzy worker told me no, so I just pre-ordered.

Came home and after about 20 minutes I got an email saying my device was ready for pick-up. lol
I had work so I waited until yesterday to pick it up on my lunch. Took about an hour (due to computer problems and slow internet at the store).

That went easier than expected. I have my white 32gb AT&T 5S before my friends who are still waiting on order they placed right when preorders opened up

I hear ya. I think what May have happened with mine is that someone reserved it but didn't pick it up within the 72 hour time frame, so they release it to whoever wants to buy. Either way I was not expecting to get an iPhone prior to my order being shipped so today was a nice surprise! Always worth a shot I guess

Had time today to try and find a 5s in stores. Tried calling a few ATT stores, Target, and Best Buy, all had no stock. I didn't want to bother with the Apple stores around my area. So I decided to call smaller chains. The 1st Radioshack and closest to my house I called had the grey and silver in stock.

iphone 5s silver 64gb tmobile, received confirmation email at 12:35 am on September 20th.

they charged my account and 2 minutes later the status was changed.
