I didn't try to get the phone on launch day either on-line or in store. Was on the fence about this phone. My wife wanted to upgrade her 4s and said I should get the new phone so she can have my 5. I went to an Apple store today and got the last ticket for an AT&T 32GB Silver. The whole process took about 45 minutes. Score!!

I tried looking for a 5S to buy for a week now and no luck. I've been looking for space grey ATT version. I finally decided to just order from the ATT website, it stated 7-14 days for delivery. But my order went from processing to preparing to ship in the same day, now it just says pending shipment.

I was in one of the AT&T stores yesterday activating my silver 5S and ask if they had any space grey in stock and he told me no but if you placed an online order they were shipping writhin 3 days seems like the are shipping faster from the carrier than apple

This is exactly the kind of **** that rubs people the wrong way. How in the hell is it that a carrier (that still has to get its stock from Apple) is able to ship faster than the damn manufacturer?

I know I couldn't agree with you more...I had put my online order thru apple and I got the 7-10 day delivery eta but as soon as I saw apple had the in store pick up option available the one day i cancelled my order quickly to reserve one at the apple store for pick up..

Bought a White/ silver iPhone 5s yesterday, everywhere was sold out and got the last one at the store.
Love it!!

That's great! In my case. Hopefully I hear some shipping news soon.
I've been looking forward to it!

Were you successful in getting the expedited shipping for free? I'm Canadian too, and it was like sucking blood from a stone. They said I had to pay for it.

Yeah actually! I called customer service and I asked for expedited shipping.
He said "Okay, done." And I asked him if the extra charge would show up on the invoice and he said that he upgraded it for free.

I'm still weary about it but the expedited shipping is only $13 so even if I get charged extra, at least it's not an exorbitant amount!

Well, lucky you! I might try calling them again tomorrow and seeing what happens.

To be honest, I've called Apple Canada twice. Both experiences have been complete polar opposites.

On Saturday night I spoke to a woman, and gradually wound up on the "free upgrade for shipping" topic. Long story short, she was fairly rude and unaccommodating. If I wanted expedited shipping, it was going to cost me.

Earlier today, I spoke again with a woman. She was extremely tolerant, empathetic, and generally pleasant. She essentially talked me off the ledge, and reassured me that the phone would be arriving shortly. However when I asked about expedited, she said that expedited shipping was the norm. According to her, everyone gets expedited off the bat. So... I'm not really sure whether to believe her or not.

Needless to say, it really does depend on who answers your call. Less than 24 hours earlier, I was completely disgusted with the attitude of the customer service rep.

Awww hang in there! We will definitely get our phones. :)

There is a difference with expedited shipping though (contrary to what the second lady said). My customer service rep said that he changed it from 5-7 shipping days to 2-3 shipping days. So it's definitely worth it since we'll be waiting for a while, especially with the gold versions being in such high demand. Any day saved is a day I get my iPhone sooner!

I also don't trust UPS very much. I have heard rumours about UPS employees doing inside jobs to steal iPhones (source:http://www.iphoneincanada.ca/news/thieves-target-ups-deliveries-of-rogers-iphone-5s-upgrades-pic/). I got expedited shipping on my macbook last year through FedEx and it was a wonderful experience.

Thanks for clearing up the "expedited" definition. The second lady told me that the phone would take 2-5 days to be delivered, with the basic shipping option. That's why I was confused.

Now that I know, I guess I have another reason to call them again.

Also: That's a deplorable thing to do (regarding the UPS thefts) hopefully those poor souls will get justice.

Is that a US thing only? If it is, then you all are a lucky bunch. Unfortunately we have to do it the old fashioned way... arrive early, and line up.

we had it for one day last monday but i think there were still not enough phones to go around that it disappeared later in the day! They seem to only have it when you don't need it and there are more than enough to go around.

Most people seem to think that they're coming on this flight.

Damn I hope not it's delayed.. Can you be able to confirm it since it says the flight arrived at a different time..

Watch your order every now and then. I ordered my Gold 5S shortly after midnight on the 20th, received 7-10 business days shipping time via standard shipping, once my iPhone was shipped the standard shipping changed to UPS WorldWide express.

Yeah... I really wouldn't worry about that. UPS has all sorts of weird times posted. If it says its in Korea now, its more than likely on that plane to Anchorage.

If by this afternoon or evening it still hasn't left Korea, then I'd be worried.

And it has a deliver time of tomorrow. Let's see if this can get to my door (NY) from Korea in 36 hours..... That would be crazy.

UPS does all sorts of crazy **** for a living. The phone travels around the clock. Its pretty much a non-stop trip. When I ordered my 5 last year, the longest stop-over I remembered might have been only 2-3 hours.

Mine was in China for 3 days.... Idk why??
