Went to a local AT&T store today, wife and I both got 64GB Space Grey 6's. No line, took about 30 min to get it all said and done.
Didn't want to open up a new thread for this. So I hope someone knows about it.. When iP5s came out (released), we could also place orders at midnight to pick up in the store next day.. And every night there were new stocks added up to the each store's inventory.. I'm sure many will remember, you could see the stores' inventory as a green or red signs..
Can this be done this year also? Didn't find any thread about it though..
Mine was pretty far out when I first ordered, you should call apple and see if they'll expidite your shipping. Mine went from oct 10 to sept 30 at no charge. Finally able to upgrade today!! Just ordered the iPhone 6+ Space Gray 128GB. Currently processing, with a delivery of Oct 21-28. Hoping that the date moves up to an earlier date (most likely will stay the same, but one can hope)![]()
I originally preordered the Silver 128GB 6 Plus. However, I cancled my preorder with Apple.com after seeing and holding the 6 Plus in the AT&T store yesterday. It was too big for me to use comfortably on a daily basis. I loved the look and feel of the Space Gray iPhone 6 and took the last one that AT&T had in stock. It seems that the Gold and Space Gray were the first to sell out as AT&T still had a good supply of Silver iPhone 6's in stock at 1PM yesterday. Since I still had 47.5 GB left on my old 5S the rep. said I would be better off going with the 64GB model again, which I did.
Here's my iPhone 6 review, maybe it will improve over time...
I got the iPhone 6, 128gig yesterday, so far very disappointed. There were three basic things that I saw as being new, the larger screen, Near Field Communication (NFC) and a barometer. The size I'm not comfortable with, there is a good chance that might change as I get use to it. The barometer can be used for tracking fitness but nothings out yet. What I was looking forward to, was the NFC, this is what they are using for Apple Pay, but in their wisdom (or lack of) they're not turning it on for any developers to use. This is a standard, so people like me expect it's going to work as the standard was designed. For example, connecting up to a speakers Bluetooth by tapping the phone to the speaker or apps for unlocking doors. Apple used to be ahead of the game now they seem to be chasing everyone else. Yes they have a watch coming out, but I've had a Pebble for some time now, again they're chasing the technology
Now a step backwards, the new screen is more affected by polarized sunglasses. In portrait it loses ~30% of its brightness if you have polarized sunglasses on. The last iPhone handle this much better. I had read they had improve that issue with this new screen: not true. To get it to brighten up again, you have to turn it into landscape, not very convenient in a lot of situations.
When Jobs was alive, you got something substantial when they came out with a new phone. Cosmetics is not substantial. Maybe some developer will find something really cool to do with the barometer, (like my Fitbit uses it for to count stairs, again old technology) for right now if NFC is going to produce anything cool and significant It's going to be on all of their competitors handsets.

After going into the Apple store yesterday and having a play around with both the iPhone 6 and 6+ i decided to get the 6+. I have ordered a silver, 64GB iPhone 6+ with a delivery date of 16th-23rd October, i also ordered a blue iPhone 6+ silicone case.
You won't regret it. I have had my 6+ space grey 128gb since launch day I completely love it.
I'm a moderate user and I made it about a day with a full charge
Yeah I would say so. Well with the bigger screen and HD resolution we all know it's gonna such. But a little trick turn the screen brightness down and limit the apps that use GPS or location services that should improve battery life
