I just waited on hold, twice, since they hung up on me the first time (total time 1 hour 40 minutes). They told me they couldn't expedite shipping because that meant they would have to take my phone off the preorder palette and then ship it after everything else which would mean it would take longer to receive my phone. Someone's blowing smoke and I'm guessing it's Apple. 
. Have I done something to offend you Apple where, even though I tried to make an early order I couldn't get through for an hour and a half when preorders started and now you're telling me different things than others are hearing?

I tried, but to no avail... my issue is that I am vacationing overseas beginning Oct 4. Would love to have my phone especially since I have T-Mobile and there is free texting and data in the country I'll be visiting. Of course, I can still do that with my current iPhone 5S.
Maybe I will try again tomorrow... sometimes I've gotten lucky and gotten an agent to expedite shipping... A few years back I got that for the iPad (second or third generation)...

I tried at that same time but couldn't get on Apple's website until around 2:30 am PST. And I couldn't use the Apple Store app because my carrier is T-Mobile.

Let me know what they say... He recommended I call Verizon to see what the e-mail I received was about, but he said he turned my order upside down and couldn't find anything strange. He still couldn't account for the change in status, but of course mentioned that it should go back. I'm on hold with Verizon now
Yeah let me know what Verizon has to say too - Just hung up with Apple... the girl I talked to seemed to have her stuff together and was really nice - and it was the same story. She went though everything with me (that could go wrong) but she said that everything was kosher. Weird. Idk I guess unless Verizon has something interesting to say we'll just have to monitor and see...
I got off with them a little while ago. The representative said that the e-mail I received earlier was regarding me cancelling the first iPhone 6+ order (thus restoring my eligibility) and then re-ordering. She said my Verizon account looks great and there wasn't anything she could that would stop the order from Apple going forward. So I guess we'll see how it unfolds tomorrow...

I used the Apple store app and it kept crashing till I found a post saying to keep pressing all the color variations till the buy now button finally appeared.
I had some payment problems due to a daily spending limit on my card that I got around by buying a gift card for what my card could take then next day when my limit reset I processed the payment with a advisor.
Now today, Sunday my order changed to preparing to ship!!!!

I agree. People who want to preorder should be aware of every preorder avenue available to them.
That said, I had issues with the app not showing me exactly what was available so I had to order a 128GB Space Gray 6, go to sleep, then get up around 8:30am to cancel that order and order the same phone in Silver.
Email shows it preparing to ship with 9/19 delivery date.

As much as I would like too, it won't happen. The best we can hope for is to have it shipped no later than Sep 23rd and arrive overnight on 24th. I think that is the earliest you or I will get ours. I ordered same phone with same 128gb and got the Oct 1-7th arrival date.

I have the same available to ship estimate as well. I ordered a verizon iPhone 6+ 16gb in space gray through apple on Saturday. Is yours still saying "processing items"?
