Preparing for shipment
Both my iphone 6 & 6+ have been stuck in "preparing for shipment" for what I think is 2 days now. I just tried the reference number trick for ups and no luck, I don't know if I'm doing it correctly do I need to fill out shipper date range or shipper account? On the bright side I did just get off the phone with apple and mentioned how on the 12th I had a lot of trouble ordering and when attempting to add the case for my phones the site would freeze, he apologized and got me a free black leather case for each of my phones. They won't deliver till the 25th but I'll use some cheap one from Verizon or best buy until then.

Just checked my account on the Apple Store and it still says '' Preparing for Shipment".
I went on the UPS site and did the whole "track by reference'' thing using my phone number and BAM!!!! Tracking number and all

I called really politely and made up some half-baked (oh sounding like Samsung oops) question about whether my phone had shipped or not and tried to get one but no go. Oh well! Would have been nice.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Would be nice to know where it is!! At least you have a serial number so many are still waiting for that.
No, it already landed and departed from Anchorage, AK, United States. During the iPhone 5 launch, a lot of the flights from AK flew to the main hub in Southern CA and the got split up and shipped around the West Coast.
Maybe if you click "Authorize Shipment Release" you can get it early

Does anyone think that as Apple starts shipping out more iPhones, our delivery dates will get a little shorter? My iPhone isn't due to ship for another 3-4 weeks.

I just called Apple too to get an update on my order and told them how frustrated I also was with the whole preorder process. The guy I spoke to was really nice and offered to get me a free pair of Beats by Dre Tours ear buds. I didn't even ask for them. Apple really does have great customer support.
