Anyone else not getting anything in their support profile OR UPS?
16GB 6+ ordered at 1am Pacific w/ 9/19 delivery. Been "preparing for shipment" since Saturday. I'm starting to think something is wrong with my order.

I have a 64GB 6+ that just moved to preparing for shipping yesterday. Still have a 9/19 delivery date, no ups info or support profile. My other phone is departing Anchorage and is the same model. Bought at 12:20 and 12:40 respectively via App.

Is it possible to get applecare with the serial # on the apple support website before the phone arrives?

I have called AppleCare twice since I ordered my Gold 128GB iPhone 6 Plus at 1 AM Pacific Time on the 12th. With all the craziness that night of having my iMac on apple.com & my iPhone & iPad open on the Apple Store App, I wasn't given a chance to order AppleCare when I finally succeeded in ordering the phone.

The lady checked with her AppleCare supervisor and gave me this info. She said when the phone is actually in my possession on Friday and is activated, call AppleCare again. She said that they have to send info. to the phone and receive info. back to them to prove you have it in your possession. Then, they will register the AppleCare you buy at that point to your new iPhone.

I told her I was concerned with getting through to them on Friday, but she said every available person has been called in to work that day and they expect lots of calls.

Anyone else's tracking information have two reference numbers? Mine has my phone number, as well as a second ten digit number. Weight on my shipment is 1.6 pounds as well.

It's worth giving Apple a call to see if they can update you.

I'm kinda sad that my phone appears to be stateside, I can't join in on all the flight tracking
:(
Has anyone gotten a shipping confirmation ordering from Apple?
I've been "preparing for shipment" for 3 days. My phone probly won't ship out til today (Wednesday) or Thursday. UPS tracking says it's being delivered via next day air saver. I guess that's good!

In other news, I got a case for my phone! (BestBuy has a few out already). Lol I am glad I went with the 6 and not the 6+. It is already pretty huge for my itty bitty hands!! Here's a few pics :)

Yes. UPS lists one 10-digit number above my (10-digit) phone number. My iPhone 6 Plus says 1.9 lbs. It is coming from Southern California up to me in Northern California by UPS Next Day Air Saver.

When I've had an Apple product coming to me from a kind of "nearby" location, I didn't get a formal tracking/ shipping notice with the option to pre-sign for it until the day or so before it was scheduled for delivery. When the time comes, millions of iPhones are going to move FAST!

I ordered my phone around the same time you did and have been "preparing for shipment" since saturday too. I just checked my support profile and it's on there now. Must have just added it within the last few hours. Don't worry man, I've been through this dance many times. Trust the delivery date, it'll be there. I've been in this same boat until just a day or two before delivery date and I still got it when it was supposed to be delivered. I remember people in years past saying they were "preparing for shipment" until it was delivered on the correct date.

Considering that iPhone launches are getting larger year by year, one would think Apple should be more optimistic with their initial production volume. It would be nice if they could afford the opportunity to everyone who ordered on opening weekend, to have their phone arrive on/around launch day.

That being said, I'm hoping my mid-October ship date is moved up.

Apple does anticipate these kind of demand but year on year the public's buying power seems to be outpacing Apple's supplies and capacity to make more iPhones (add output capacity of suppliers and manufacturing partners).

So...normally I use my upgrade one year and the following year I use an upgrade from a family member on another account. This year I thought was the year to use mine, but when I looked back at the order for my 5S I had used my upgrade then. The odd thing is AT&T's website said I was eligible (I checked a week before the launch) and my order appears to have gone through fine (I have a tracking number).

Not AT&T Next and I definitely paid the contract price two years in a row. And no, they didn't take off another line as there are only two lines and both were upgraded this year.

Anyone ever had it where they forgot to take the upgrade off?

Not saying I don't agree with you. Whenever new products are launched, there are bound to be some shortages. However a company of Apple's size, definitely does have the resources (if they wanted to) to have enough for opening weekend. For them to say that "Pre-Orders completely exceed expectations" is bull. Nothing has indicated otherwise that a launch will fall flat on its face, therefore they should be conservative in production. Whether or not this is false supply constraint, I have no proof of anything. Below is my order history from last year vs. this year.

Ordered two days after launch (September 20th)
iPhone 5s 64G Gold: Ordered on September 22 - Delivered October 18th (2013)

Ordered one day after pre-orders began (September 12)
iPhone 6 64G Gold: Ordered on September 13 - (Estimated) Delivery October 17-23 (2014)

It's just frustrating because it seems as if they learned nothing from last year's fiasco.

I think we can agree though that we don't know how product development and production progresses throughout the years with Apple. Basing on news reports, they just started to ramp up production last July and imagine 2-3 manufacturing partners churning out 4 million iPhones in a month is a marvel in itself.

I had it worst before, I remember getting 4s and 5 in December (5 had 2M first day pre orders and had shipping dates pushed back in just hours.)

and then getting the 5s around the same time as yours. Believe or not, I think Apple has improved in demand anticipation than before.

I was able to monitor and see that it took 24 hours before all first day devices be pushed back (for iPhone 6) to a later shipping date.

So after following a couple threads about phone status and tracking mine I've noticed something. A lot of people were saying they're phones were still not showing up in they're support profile or UPS tracking. But It seems like a lot of the 6 Plus's have been sitting stateside this whole time. Once people get their tracking info their phone is located somewhere in the US, mine are in Mount Juliet, TN. Plus Apple overnights the orders so it's normal if people don't see any info or movement until today or tomorrow.

Yes, that is a correct observation. Even now there are still some iPhone 6 available in 7-10 days.

Still kicking myself for not deciding sooner.:mad::mad:

I'm getting the iphone 6+ 64GB Gold. It was on the support page two days ago, found the shipping information yesterday, and today I have been fully charged on my cc this morning. Hopefully the iOS update today will keep me entertained until it's arrival. That and Downton Abbey.

I think you being in Canada is also a factor with regards to unit allocations.

I got 5 units, all for launch day delivery. To me, Apple did something right this time (with regards to demand anticipation).

I had all the same tracking up to departing ZhengZhou for the second time. After that it has where I asked them to hold it for Will Call and nothing else. I wonder if it is still in China or if my request made it so that I can't see tracking for now.

I too have about the same tracking info up to not having the 2nd Departure from China.

Location Date Local Time Activity
ZhengZhou, China
09/15/2014 11:15 P.M. Arrival Scan
09/15/2014 11:00 P.M. Departure Scan
09/15/2014 9:46 P.M. Location Scan
09/15/2014 9:58 A.M. Origin Scan
09/15/2014 8:26 A.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

There were two Cargo flights (both 747's) that departed directly from Zhengzhou yesterday (EST for me), that have already gone through Anchorage. One is continuing to Louisville and the other to Chicago. I know Louisville is the main UPS Hub, and from reading on hear Chicago is another big Hub for UPS.

These two flights are Atlas Air and China Cargo (both of whom I have read are carrying iPhones). My guess is that since these planes are not UPS, UPS does not actually physically scan them until they are at a UPS terminal again. Anchorage (from what I read) is just a US Customs checkpoint.

My guess is once these planes land at the UPS destinations (Louisville and Chicago) the phones will be back in UPS's hands and receive their next UPS Scan.

Here are the two flights:
Chicago (Atlas Air GTI8401) http://flightaware.com/live/flight/GTI8401/history/20140917/0516Z/ZHCC/PANC

Louisville (China Cargo CKK271) http://flightaware.com/live/flight/CKK271/history/20140916/2300Z/ZHCC/PANC

If I had to guess, both of these are filled with nothing but iPhones and used to augment the capacity UPS had to move product from China. I have read that Apple has chartered a number of cargo planes for the launch.

I have learned a lot on shipping logistics on this site!
