Not saying I don't agree with you. Whenever new products are launched, there are bound to be some shortages. However a company of Apple's size, definitely does have the resources (if they wanted to) to have enough for opening weekend. For them to say that "Pre-Orders completely exceed expectations" is bull. Nothing has indicated otherwise that a launch will fall flat on its face, therefore they should be conservative in production. Whether or not this is false supply constraint, I have no proof of anything. Below is my order history from last year vs. this year.
Ordered two days after launch (September 20th)
iPhone 5s 64G Gold: Ordered on September 22 - Delivered October 18th (2013)
Ordered one day after pre-orders began (September 12)
iPhone 6 64G Gold: Ordered on September 13 - (Estimated) Delivery October 17-23 (2014)
It's just frustrating because it seems as if they learned nothing from last year's fiasco.
It seems they did learn something from last year. Pre order sales were about 1mil last year v. 4mil this year. More people are getting theirs in the launch date.
It seems YOU did not learn anything from last year. If you ordered two days AFTER preorders last year you should of better planned this year. Everyone knew, including Apple that this year launch would be bigger, yet you still waited One day AFTER pre orders and expect to get it on the 19th? Maybe you'll learn something for next year and not blame Apple for your inability to plan.
