UK Order here.

I ordered on 9th December.

Retina iMac
i7, 1TB SSD, 8GB RAM (I plan to upgrade with Crucial RAM, will order today), upgraded GPU.

Looking at 5-7 days for dispatch. I think UK orders are made in Cork, Ireland.

iMac Retina on its way!

US Order from Adorama

Ordered yesterday and Shipping today!

Apple 27" iMac with Retina 5K Display
Intel Quad Core i5 3.5GHz
8GB RAM
3TB Fusion Drive
AMD Radeon M295X

AppleCare included at no extra cost and no tax on shipping to Texas.

I am replacing my early 2009 iMac 24" which I upgraded to a DIY Fusion Drive a couple of years back. This should be a major upgrade especially the gorgeous screen.

Just got my R iMac. Screen is horrible. Second replacement. So fed up. $3500 machine and arrives like this. Horendous backlight bleeding issues and lines horizontal.

Looked at the retina iMac - lovely screen indeed. However it boiled down to want versus need and I decided to go with a non-retina 27", what I would have gotten even if the retina had never been released. It'll still be a very nice step up from my mid-2011 base 21.5".

Last Friday I ordered a 27" / 3.4 Ghz i5 / GTX 775M, with one factory upgrade - the 512 gb SSD. It shipped today and delivery this Monday looks likely. :)

I've already bought a Kingston 16 gb ram kit which I'll install before powering up the new 27" for the first time. I'll leave the OEM ram in of course, for a total of 24 gb.

I thought it would ship from China but the Fedex web tracker says it was picked up in Ontario CA this afternoon - huh?

Ordered a fully loaded retina iMac model on December 2. Arrived December 18 at 2:30pm! It's gorgeous! My first Mac.

Stopped by at an Apple reseller this p.m. and tried the 5K Retina iMac sitting next to a regular 27-inch iMac. Was blown away by the screen, what a beauty!
Ordered the 5K Retina iMac at the Apple NL online store when I returned home: 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD and AppleCare. Promised ready for shipment in 5-7 days, shipment within 1 day after that. Might even get it before year's end. I can't wait...

Wow all you guys getting the riMac. I'm pretty jealous :p

I got myself a 21.5" high end iMac with the i5 and GT 750m

Pretty happy with it :)

So I decided to take the plunge on a retina iMac after my late 2009 graphics card died (apple fixed it for free however!).

I ordered on Dec 1st, and it finally arrived on Christmas Eve. It's fully maxed out in spec (except I decided to go for the 3TB fusion). The RAM I upgraded myself from Crucial. I really can't wait to load up WoW tomorrow.
So far I am blown away, I love the screen, It really is amazing.

I accidentally ordered the wireless keyboard (I wanted wired with keypad), but in hindsight I don't mind.

I'm in the UK and my mac came from Shanghai if anyone is wondering.

Upgraded to new 5K Retina

Finally upgraded my 2009 27" iMac which used to be 50/50 OSx and Windows.

New computer specs are below and this time its 100% OSx Yosemite. So far enjoying it very much.

27" iMac 5K Retina
32 GB Memory
1TB SSD drive
AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4GB
Wireless keyboard & Magic Mouse
4TB External RAID for Time Machine
External Blu-ray/DVD writer
Belkin YourType keypad

Just got mine and it's nicked in the corner
What should I do?? Worth trying to get a replacement? Probably would regret not getting a replacement, it's a $3300 machine thats nicked out of box Screen looks ok

Mine has a small dent on the side between the screen/glass and aluminum. I've been wondering if I should return it. Now sure how it even got there. I know it wasn't me.

27" iMac 5K Retina
4 GHz Intel Core i7
24 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
1TB Fusion drive

Wireless keyboard & Magic Mouse & Magic trackpad (with mobee magic trackpad)/partial numpad
Airport TC 2 TB

Very happy and everything works out smooth ... Still on discovery!

Does the base model 5K ship from China? It says 1 business day and I'm from Denmark. Previously Apple would have some stock in Netherlands/Ireland, so shipping wouldn't take many days.

Return it. Forewarning apple corporate is terrible they already received my computer dec 17th and still waiting for my $3300 refund. Absolutely rediculous. Is there another number I can call to complain? Been calling every day.

Ordered my 5K on the 31st after I found out my Macbook Pro is dying a slow death.

Went with the i7, 8GB RAM (Ordering another 16GB to install myself), 3TB Fusion drive and the 4GB video card.

Was supposed to be delivered between the 12/14th Jan but called Apple to get an update and they offered a free upgrade to expedited shipping so now saying should be here between the 8/12th.

Japan Apple Store:

iMac 5K
- 4.0 i7
- 16gb ram
- 512gb flash
- m290x video
- wireless keyboard/trackpad

Ordered on Jan 1st, with delivery between Jan 9th - 11th. Normally order memory from OWC because cheaper than Apple and lifetime warranty, but noticed the difference from Apple from 8gb to 16gb was actually cheaper than going thru OWC (plus shipping). Totally personal preference, as well, but I could never get into the Magic Mouse - I seem to work way faster with the trackpad, but notice many people go with the mouse.

Just praying the unit is not scratched up on the aluminium, which has been an ongoing problem with all computers I've bought thru Apple Japan -AND- hoping I'm one of the people with a mint screen, as returns are a major PITA here (and not free).

Yes, SODIMM size AND it is super important to get the proper spec parts for the new iMacs. They use low voltage or dual voltage parts that only a few of the Mac memory dealers sell.
RamJet and Mac RAM Direct are both always safe bets. OWC's has been really slipping away lately.

Just joined the party :)

iMac 5k, 4.0ghz i7, 295x GPU, 512gb SSD, 32gb Crucial RAM. Older Apple LED cinema display functions as the secondary screen.

So far I'm loving it, although the CPU and GPU can reach absurd heat levels of over 100 Celsius when pushed hard. Got 3 years warranty just in case.

Did you order everything on Amazon, or just the RAM? Who offered the Free AppleCare?
