Been holding off for so long and now my baby arrived and my current 8 year old Compaq Presario cant really handle the overload of photos I need to process. It just chugs and sputters.

Thinking ill order a 2011 and forget buyers remorse.

Ironically my son is 21.5 inches in length... Was that a sign from the Apple gods? :)

If you get the current iMac you will be happy with it. They are still nice machines and besides you have a new baby son, which is far more exciting than an iMac refresh! :D

Gone and done it now.....

Finally put the order in on a fully specced 27" today, plus Promise Pegasus 12tb Thunderbolt RAID.

My G5 was still only able to run OSX 10.5.8 and I was losing work with Photoshop crashing every five mins.

Got a great 0% Finance deal from Apple and can swap out for new model next year with no penalties.

I am really excited :D

How?

I'm getting ready to finance and never saw anything of the sort!

Mark,

It was a UK Business Finance I was offered. What I mean by 'no penalties' is that after yr1 I can pay off the remaining with no excess penalty, still keeping it 0%. I can then keep the iMac and continue into yr2 with another machine on the finance.

;)

just thought i'd share my new iMac, if it wasn't for this forum i probably would never have thought of buying one, or become and apple fanboy

Cheers

Looks great. I'm waiting to buy my first Mac. Can I ask how did you transfer your stuff? Migration assistant or manually? How was the process? Also any hints or tips for other soon to be iMac owners?

Congrats. I think you will thoroughly enjoy being an iMac owner. The machines are great. My 2.8 24" does everything I want it to and it's 4 years old. Have fun.

24GB of RAM!

~$230 USD from OWC ( including shipping)

Congrats!!! I'm saving money for an iMac... can't wait.

Wow... 24GB of RAM that's sweet... I thought the max was 16GB??? Does anyone know how much RAM you can install in the 27" iMac?

My first mac!

I've had my imac for about a week and i am really happy with it; its a great music production rig. I ordered a 27" refurb with a 3.4ghz i7, 4gb ram, 256 ssd, and a 1gb radeon 6970m.

Apple hooked it up though and instead sent me one with 8gb of ram and a 2gb radeon 6970m.

Aside from the plain white box it came in, i swear this is brand new!

32GB RAM from OWC

Is on its way!!!!

I bought my new iMac--could not wait any longer.

Our budget is up on June 20th. Had to buy. Bought a 27 inch iMac...maxed out in every way...16ram, 3.4 i7, 250gb ssd + 2gb hard drive. Looking very forward to it! Shipping date expected in 2 days, delivery by the 19th.

She did inform me though, after I asked, if the new iMac comes out I have till 90 days after delivery to return it for the new one. I don't plan on that, but sure seems like a generous policy!! This will be a replacement of my 2009 iMac.
