Just phoned apple and I will definitely not be getting my iMac till well into January.

I guess I won't be back on this forum for a while...(sobs into sleeve)

I ordered the 8th. But with people on here who ordered on the 3rd already shipping (in some threads), I hold out hope it can't be that far into january.

Just placed an order for a refurb 21.5" with 2.8 Hz i7! :D

On a side note, refurb.me never sent me an email to let me know that the config I wanted was in stock. Fortunately, I'm a micro-manager by nature so I kept the refurb store open on my iPhone and would refresh it occasionally (who am I kidding practically every 15 minutes) throughout the day. I placed my order about twenty minutes ago and still no email from refurb.me. Ohh well, can't expect too much from a free service.

:D My computer was delivered this morning, not even 24 hours later! I'm so glad I didn't pay the extra $38 for next day shipping.

Also, my beauty came with 8 gbs of ram instead of 4!

ETA: Just discovered it has a 2 TB hard drive!

You're gonna love it. Having a big screen for multitasking or working in a program like Photoshop is awesome.

Remember to use Migration Assistant to migrate your PC info to the new system. You can get your old PC ready by reading Pondini's excellent guide. You can find it at:

last Friday I got my new 21.5 inch late 2012 iMac. Its the $1299 model but I got it for $1249 cuz I have a student discount. It's my first Mac. It took me about 6 hours to get everything all set up and all of my files moved over from my ancient Dell desktop. Now I have the full apple experience, since I already had an iPad, an iPhone, and an old iPod touch that I had before I got my iPhone.

thanks guys for all the responses..... if i get stuck on anything... iknow where i will come!!! who needs to spend money with apple on one to one when i can get it on here!!!!

thanks again:)

My 27" iMac with 3TB Fusion drive arrived yesterday with 8 GB arrived yesterday. The 32GB I had waiting for it (Crucial UK) has now been mated with the mother ship and at the moment it's 12 hours into 25 hours of migrating my files from my MBP.

My only "issue" was that (never having owned an iMac - 2 MBPs and a MBA) it took me 5 minutes to find the power button! It's hidden round the back on the left to any newbies that might have the same "issue".

If that's the only thing, I'm looking forward to editing all the videos I've put off waiting for the right hardware!

The new imac that I ordered on the 16th was the:

Hey, I'm a reader of these forums for a while now but this is my first post.

After being a long time PC user I have finally went to the other side and ordered my first ever mac.

I ordered at:

3.2GHz Quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
1TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB GDDR5
Magic Trackpad
Apple Wireless Keyboard (British) & User's Guide (English)
Accessory Kit
Apple DVD Drive

I had originally ordered the base 27 imac on launch day but reading these forums I began to regret ordering the lower end imac!

Hopefully I made the right decision!
I would rather wait longer and get the iMac I really wanted.
This is my first mac so I am very excited!!

My original order which I cancelled:

2.9GHz Quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
1TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GT 660MX 512MB GDDR5
Magic Trackpad
Apple Wireless Keyboard (British) & User's Guide (English)
Pages
Keynote
Accessory Kit

2 Brand New iMacs - Flawless

Just setup 2 brand new maxed out 27" iMac's for the office today and they are FLAWLESS. Zero blemishes, ultra fast, very even back-lighting, and in love.

There were so many "iMac is an epic fail," "imac broken," "apple sucks" threads that I thought I would throw this one in and let everyone know there are perfect ones going out.

Now I must go and jump into FCP-X and After Effects CS6 and try to finish a major project!

Personally I'm delighted to see a thread like this amidst all the complaints of issues with their new iMacs. Thanks for sharing.

I know there's probably a lot more that are arriving perfect than flawed, but it's nice to see regardless.

27'' iMac ordered through reseller

Has anyone ordered their iMac via a reseller ? I placed my order on november 30th with a local Apple reseller here in Canada and I'm still waiting for it to deliver. I've ordered a 27'' with the 1tb fusion drive and standar memory and graphic card.

When I call them, they keep telling me that there is no way to know the statut of the order and the date of delivery. They tell me that Apple never tell them when they ship their stuff. I find that very stange and unusual.

Is anyone in the same situation ? Has anyone ordered via a reseller and got their computer yet ?

Obviously they work for HP, Dell, or Samsung :)

Well I got one brand new iMac that's got 3-4 marks on the top.

What sucks is apple want me to send it back and and I will have to wait "shipped in January" for another one. I told then to just charge me another $2400 and I will hold onto to this iMac until they deliver me the new one.

We are at a stand still. I am not going to ship back this iMac until they ship me another one cause i could wait 1 week for a new one. But not going to wait 3-4 more weeks without an iMac.

Can you tell me who is the reseller? I live in Canada too.

A few people who ordered their iMacs from resellers have had a bad experience. You can look for a thread where someone ordered from MacMall and had a terrible experience.

I ordered from Micrologic in Quebec City.

The funny thing is that back in 2008, when I ordered my old 24'' iMac from another reseller (Informatique Mercier), everything went smoothly. They provided me with the order number so I could track it myself on Apple website. I don't understand why in this case today, Micrologic cannot do the same.

They gonna hear from me a lot if they're not able to provide me with a tracking number :)
